Yea they always have rushes in spring
I’m still 100% shocked that I got in for the Fall, no SGR, basically no terms of admission (pass your classes) and my first choice major since I am missing 2 pre-reqs. I’m convinced that whoever was reading my essays really liked them which makes me feel better about choosing USC, because it tells me that they want me for the person I am, not as a student number with a GPA. I really poured myself into those essays and it makes me that much more proud to now be a Trojan.
OTOH I think the UC’s can’t afford to do this anymore with how crowded they’re getting. Impacted majors are often pre-reqs + GPA or bust and that’s it.
@HappyLifeMachine I think spring vs fall depends on your major and if you’re a junior or sophomore. I’m glad I got spring as a sophomore, but it would definitely be a bummer to get spring as a junior.
I’m in for fall, just got my golden taco! So excited! submitted my grades on Monday and letter was sent June 4. Good luck everyone!
@princess100 Congrats! What is your major? Are you a sophomore or junior transfer?
@zettasyntax AHHH man i really don’t want to start in spring, don’t get me wrong ill take spring admission over rejection any day but I really want to see if I can move it to this fall. Thats literally another 6 months of waiting this is horrible, I committed already for spring In case it does increase my chance to attend in fall. I don’t even know what I would do In fall I only have like 5 units left before I hit 64, I also took all my required courses already.
What about you, what are your plans?
I really don’t get the love for wanting Fall so badly over Spring… Is it THAT much of a difference???
@MakeMilDolMove Well in my case I already completed all my pre reqs and GEs for USC, and I have 62 so that means I can only have 2 more units transfer over (USC will only take 64 units which means if you have 80 units or something, as soon as you transfer to USC you will 16 of those), I currently attend a 4 years university so its really expensive if you are just taking one class. Which means I would more then likely have to take the semester off .I don’t want to have a gap, id feel like id loose momentum, and believe it or not I actually like going to school lol. I’m currently looking at internships right now.
Not to mention you won’t get to experience USC football culture which is a key element of the SC life.
Fall admits, where are you guys going to dorm?? I am having the hardest time choosing.
@jucery13 You’re right. Taking a gap will result into losing momentum (for me at least). I kind of took a one year gap (took only 2 classes in fall 2014 and one in spring 2015) and I am feeling lazy to go back to college even if it’s USC.
@jucery13 to each their own, regarding losing momentum, but as long as you focus up and know what you have to do, going back to school after taking a semester off, shouldn’t be an issue. Also regarding USC football, even if you go there for spring you will still have 2 falls to enjoy USC football, only difference is one is a year later then another (which BTW is a blessing in disguise considering they will be better in 2016 and 2017 then in 2015).
@MakeMilDolMove Also it kinda just sucks , I’ve been thinking about transferring since this time last year, I was preparing which classes to take etc, looking at the possible essay questions. Then the whole admissions wait, and now I need to wait another entire semester. Time better start going fast.
I wouldn’t be so bumped out if I wasn’t near the 64 unit mark.
@poisonx Say what?!?! Really? Then you definitely lucked out, I heard USC will usually reject students who are only going to school part time.
@jucery13 that’s what I heard too. I was sh*tting bricks during the entire admission decision period because I knew USC would look at my decision in a negative light. My counselor did ask me what other activities I was involved with and I told her that I work 40 hours a week and operate my own business. It’s still kind of a shock though because usually people get denied as a half time student.
@poisonx Yeah dude thats great, I remember seeing a video from USC admissions and they mentioned that they don’t like part time students, and said that makes you extremely un competitive. But look at you, you got in for Fall and everything, good stuff!! I applaud you!
Yo send good vibes my way so I can get in for Fall.
@poisonx With regard to housing, my top choices were troy east, troy, and cardinal gardens! There are a bunch of housing options though and I’m sure they are all pretty good. If you’re stuck, I’d try to choose housing based on location and what the building has to offer compared to other buildings.
@poisonx My top choice was Parkside studio, but I’m thinking about changing that asap because I won’t have a social life. Other top choices were Webb tower (which is a longshot I know) and Cardinal Gardens, then Century.
@jucery13 thanks bro I hope you get in the fall. Did you talk to your counselor yet?
@marinersfan13 I was thinking Troy and Troy east too. but I’m also considerin off campus housing since it’ll save me money.
@HappyLifeMachine which housing choice do you think Is the best for an active social life?
@poisonx Well when i first asked her she straight up said no that they don’t move transfers from spring to fall, then I showed her the message that is given when you are committing.
"Thank you for your interest in attending USC in the spring of 2016! We have recorded your intent to enroll. If space becomes available for our fall 2015 class, we will notify you on an individual basis”.
She then replied that anything is possible but I shouldn’t get my hopes up. Partly I feel like they might just say that to everyone because I feel like if they say their is a slight possibility then their is guaranteed to be some people that will call them or email them everyday asking if their is an open spot. Either way I committed for the spring in hopes that it might place me on the list as one of the first spring admits (if their is such thing and order actually matters).
Also incase you still haven’t got access to oasis, after I committed I got access to oasis.
Has anyone on Trojan Transfer Plan been denied yet??
