Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@adam12345 you’re in, congrats! I got my package two days after that message popped up.

@trnsfrstdnt Yeah, calling them really seems to help with them looking at your documents and such. I honestly believed they would have forgotten about me if I didn’t call :stuck_out_tongue: Yeah, waiting really sucks! I had to wait until mid-July last year to learn my ultimate fate.

yea im pretty much decided i’ll be attending UCLA. the only way that i’d go to USC is if they offer great fin aid and also if i can double major or change econ into a major in marshall business.

Sorry another stupid question, but if you didn’t apply for financial aid they won’t send you that message that everyone says leads to an acceptance right?

I am honestly starting to believe that they make the wait so long to weed people out as ridiculous as that sounds LOL. I mean mid July is pretty extreme…

@rosyme I don’t think they’ll make you wait until mid July. That’s probably for people who get their grades in at the June 30 deadline.

Hello!~ I just got my golden package today in the mail  I just had a quick question… I’m trying to commit… and it says to do so on the you.usc.edu site but I can’t seem to find the “Enrollment Commitment Deposit” place? :0

Just saw that they updated my STARS report and it looks like only 15 of my 60+ units transferred? That means I would start over as a freshman. :expressionless:

I wonder if the report is final? Because I know a lot more of my courses are transferrable. It’s not even showing that the english class I took to satisfy WRIT 130 as transferrable lol. In that case I don’t know how I got accepted 0_0

For those of you that are still deciding between schools. How are you going about choosing which one you’ll plan to attend?

@poisonx I had the same issue and asked my counselor about it who directed me to the articulation office. They told me that if your final transcripts are in they’ll be prompted to completely fill it out when you register for an orientation date so that you can print it and show it to your adviser  don’t worry too much but call them about it and they might offer to just finish filling it out right then and there

@trollieggs I had the same problem! So I had to wait a couple of days for my portal to update before seeing the enrollment commitment deposit link and such. so just wait a couple of days

we should start a usc 2015 transfer thread social club when we all get on to compus

@jch718 That’s actually a really good question! I would assume that no, you wouldn’t get that email that indicates acceptance if you haven’t applied for financial aid. I did apply for financial aid and was accepted, but I didn’t get the email. Like I said, maybe it was because I was a spring admit or maybe it had something to do with the fact that my mother is widowed - I don’t know if that had anything to do with why I didn’t get the particular email.

Hello!! I recently got accepted into USC as a sophomore. I had a question regarding housing. Is it too late to find a housing on campus?? I really want to stay at either Troy Hall, Cardinal Gardens, or Century!!

Hey guys, I hate to harp on this, but can you all post your stats on this thread? Last years really helped me and I want to help next years transfer applicants too!

@trollieggs hey same boat as you! I emailed housing about this a few days ago, and they gave me this response:
“Housing for transfer students is not guaranteed, but we are currently working on assignments for transfer students. If you apply today, it may take a couple of weeks for us to offer you a space.”

I really really want/need to live on campus (I feel like that’s the only way I can realistically go) because I don’t know anyone in LA, as I am from the east coast.

Also about housing, does anyone know for the on-campus apartment type housing, will they assign us a roommate or will we have to choose one? I don’t know anyone in LA (out of state) so I’m just wondering

Hey guys! Quick question, so I know during orientation we have to take placement tests; however, if we score low does that mean the classes we took won’t count? For instance, I want to take a calculus class this summer but what if I score low on my placement test?

@Mick96 You can take it beforehand at home

@collegebeans Oh ok, but still, what if we took a calculus class already but we’re not even placed into calculus after the placement test? Is that possible…?
