Also, do we still need to take it even if we’ve taken calculus in college already? Is it possible they’ll move us back to step 1?
I just got an “ability to benefit verification” form in my financial aid tab. Anyone know what it means?
So if you’re you.usc.edu page under “application status” still shows the Spring Grade Request message you should look into that? I just figured it was supposed to be there because it’s under “message history”. Can someone let me know what to do about this? Thanks!
@jch718 Mine is the same. I’m pretty sure it’s fine.
@Ellie64 My admission counselor didn’t even respond to my email so I decided to call the USC undergraduate admission office and they helped me out lol
I am having so much difficulty finding the web registration tutorial, Pre-Academic Advising Worksheet and the online math placement test. Can somebody please help me? It shouldn’t be this difficult.
@batusa Oh that’s great. That’s good to hear. I can’t wait for everything to be sorted out so I can already know.
Cool! Is there a particular major you want at Annenberg? I am going to Marshall in the Fall!
@Ellie64 I second what mamba said, call admissions. I didn’t call or ask my counselor about mine. I assumed it’s fine since my portal changed once I’ve gotten a confirmation email from the transcript provider that USC has received it. :o
@rosyme ditto. There’s no link to any of that stuff at MyUSC?
First off congrats to all that got into USC! I am about to be a freshman in college at Penn State (finance major). I grew up in LA and SC has been my dream school since I was a kid. I had good grades in hs and a really good personal statement (I know kids that got in with worse grades and less extra curriculars) but unfortunately I didn’t. I’m planning on transferring into SC Marshall after a year like you guys. I was wondering if you could help me out with what classes to take, what to do on the app or literally anything else that you think would help. Thanks and congrats again.
Does anyone know when USC lets us know if we’ve been bumped up to fall semester??
Anyone waiting on a decision from Jesse Rueter?
Additionally, has anyone received a decision from Jesse Rueter?
Has anyone that got a spring grade request that applied to Viterbi heard back since they submitted them? It’s been nearly two weeks since I submitted mine and I applied to Viterbi and I’m getting a little worried because I havent heard back yet
@SCtransferer does the “ability to benefit” thing count? I got the email on Friday night and from what it seems it’s an indication of acceptance. My roommate also got the email at the same time, we’re both viterbi applicants from UCR
@rosyme I forgot to mention! I was assigned housing a few hours after I called them. I was given space in a double-large room in the Hoover St. Residence, but I’m going to try to get re-assigned! Have you heard back yet?
Marshall, that’s awesome! So you’re a business student?
I’m hoping to get into print journalism!
@lazevike Yes I think it does! Would you mind telling me what your GPA was at UCR? I went to UCSB and my GPA was 3.76 but im on the TTP so I was hoping that would give me a boost
@scismydream I was reading a thread that said some kids that were bumped last year found out in July. Although, that was in the main USC forum on here, so it’s likely those were freshmen students. I haven’t found much information about this topic. I mailed a letter to the dean of Dornsife this morning asking to be moved. I know my admission counselor said not to even ask, but hey, figured it couldn’t hurt? At least I’d make some kind of impression (even bad) if he actually reads it.
@zettasyntax Yeah it definitely couldn’t hurt! I mean I’m fortunate to be a spring admit given my grades, but since I’m transferring from a 4 year univ, the classes I need to take at a CC for fall semester are full. When you committed, did you get the option that they would alert you if there’s room for fall semester?
@scismydream I don’t even know if it’s grades that determine the spring admit thing. Someone last year stated that they got into Marshall for the fall semester with a GPA just shy of 3.0 And I have just one B, so I’m definitely over the 3.7 GPA they list as the average for transfer students
Anyway, when I committed, I do remember seeing something that said I would be notified if any spots open up, but I don’t really recall if it made any mention about a specific date. I’m guessing it would be pretty late in July though. I recall people getting decisions last year from their SGRs as late as July 15th, so I’m guessing maybe that’s when we might find out - such a wait!
@SCtransferer I am transferring from UCSB too! I hope we both get in!
@theneoarcadian are you from arcadia high school? Because I am too hahaha
And yeah I hope we both get in!
