@lazevike wow! Really? So what happens now? How soon do people receive their official admission after receiving the ability to benefit? I noticed it yesterday about noon and got an email today.
Edit: i checked again today and the ability to benefit form is disappeared as others said it would.
Also, in the email it says, “This notice is not an indication of an admission decision. Financial aid information is gathered and reviewed for all financial aid applicants, regardless of admission status.” is this just bogus then?
This morning I called housing about my application and they told me they are only up to June 11 on application. I applied on 6/21/15 and the lady informed me that I will find out by mid-late July and I should consider other options to be safe.
I thought this is important information to share for anyone who’s waiting for an assignment.
@justanother1 my package came in the mail the next day after I got the financial aid email and the ability to benefit thing, but then again I live in the greater Los Angeles area. So I guess it really depends on where you live, but it shouldn’t take more than two days.
I just finished my spring quarter and grades are not completely out yet so I can’t send in my final transcript. Anyone know when the final dead line is?
@wedoboop they were due June 30th (or July 1st). Either way, when grades come out, upload your unofficial transcript until the official gets to Usc. You should also call them.
Hi I was admitted to USC as a spring admit. However before receiving my admittance I was enrolled in a couple summer courses in preparation for transfer next year. Since I was accepted, I decided to drop those courses (they’re non-major prep courses, general education, or any requirements) since they’re just going to transfer as elective units. However my counselor said that she needs to review my official transcript in order to see if I could be rescinded?
Do you guys think I could be rescinded for this? Or are they just being cautious and giving me a neutral answer.
@rosyme I know, it sucked that they didn’t put me in any of the housing I’d chosen! But I paid the $800 deposit and signed the contract. I sent the reassignment form right after that and was reassigned today, just two days after submitting the form! They put me in a 2 person 1 bedroom in Parkside Apartments, which is cool. However, I’d already talked to the roommate I had in the first residence and she was very cool and was a Muslim like me, so it sucked a little that we’re no longer roommates due to my reassignment.
Tuscany is very pretty and luxurious, according to their website! I guess that’s why its a bit more expensive. Firstchoicehousing.com and Stuho.com offer housing listings next to USC, if you want to check them out! I’m sure USC will assign you to housing soon, don’t lose faith!

I sent in my grades around 5/20 but USC always claims they never received my grades despite my calls so long story short they finally received them around 6/10.
Now its almost 7/15 and im checking my Yousc portal everyday…since Im abroad and away from my mailbox
Also…anyone else whose counselor is impossible to reach? Email, phone call…my counselor doesnt reply or ever answers the phone. T_T
@infinitely2014 I’m still waiting to hear back as well. Viterbi. they got my unofficial spring grades around 6/15. But my official transcript just got to them.
@infinitely2014 yeah, I’m pretty similar to that. I turned in my official transcript by hand to the office on the first of June. It didn’t process until 3 days later. So right now it’s over a month and I’m still waiting. I did very well in spring, so I’m remaining hopeful. Also, I don’t think they do mass rejections at the end like they did at the end of May. I know plenty of people who received their decision, rejection or acceptance very soon after sending in grades. So I’m pretty much in a grand stats of confusion. Best of luck to you! Also, for as much as this thread died down, it seems that many must have been rejected unfortunately
@blahvetblah Now that your official transcript got there hopefully you’ll hear some good news this week everyone should be back to work after the long 4th of July weekend. @infinitely2014 About reaching your counselor he/she might have been on vacation mine seems to respond early in the morning to emails only no phone. I’m behind you guys waiting for an appeal assuming sometime after the 15th so they’ve got to let both of you know before me. Wonder if ppl accepted earlier still haven’t sent their deposits in yet not sure of when the commitment dates for them are due but could possibly slow down the process for others still waiting to hear back?
@infinitely2014@blahvetblah Still waiting also. Sent unofficial transcripts early June, a few weeks later rush mailed my official transcripts. Have confirmed with numerous staff that they have received them yet my portal remains unchanged from the time I first saw the SGR message?
If you check the 2014 thread there were a considerable number of applicants who were notified between July 10 through late in the day July 15th. Trying to be hopeful, and I don’t think I’ve ever had to be this patient in my life haha.
@Loveforpi Congrats getting your acceptance today! Great news for SGR ppl still waiting to hear back sounds like it should be very soon…btw does it say on your acceptance when they want your deposit by?
