@BeigeCardigan hahaha wow what a coincidence! which school are you transferring from? i’m coming from pierce. and taking the train does have its pros and cons but at least you beat the traffic!
@CCtransferSC it takes some time, I applied as soon as I received my acceptance package in the mail which was the 24th of June. Just received an email from them about 4 days ago saying they’ve assigned me.
Hi all! I have a question regarding the financial aid. For those who has Cal Grant, what’s your aid status on the fall semester award showing on USC? Mine is still showing " awaiting authorization" Is it normal?
I’m a current first year in pasadena college. Graduated High school in 2011. If i want to transfer to USC as a SOPHOMORE,
do I need to finish my writing equivalent WRIT 150 before my sophomore year?
The reason why Im asking this is because I’m worried I won’t get into a English class this year
@Cindyciclta I believe that requirement is mandatory, I could be wrong though; however, everyone I know has completed that requirement before getting into USC.
@Cindyciclta Hi! You would have to finish the English/writing requirement, which is Writing 130 before applying at sophomore level. You should follow the Transfer Planning Guide, if you already aren’t. It’s very precise! I used it and I got in at sophomore level for fall 2015.
Best of luck!
So…I may have screwed up badly. Before being accepted, I didn’t have access to OASIS so when I got my golden taco, I completely forgot about it…I recently submitted my enrollment commitment fee and realized that I should be able to access OASIS. However, I found out that I had been admitted as a sophomore and not a junior? I have 62 credits tho. x.x Whats going onnn.
@dimples12 I live closer to Pierce but as I commute it’s actually easier to attend Valley on the way home to make it on time for evening classes! The train is by far the cheapest option, however it has lagged more than usual and there have been three occasions the train has shut down causing me to completely miss class AND miss a test.
I have never had access to oasis. Is this something I can access once my commitment fee has been paid? I tried my id number and the 6-digit birth date (mmddyy) but it didn’t work?
@Cindyciclta you should follow it. Have the English requirement completed for certain. You can be accepted without having all of them completed, but you should definitely be taking some of those classes to be competitive
Hi, I was wondering exactly how difficult it would be to transfer directly into USC’s Marshall school of business as a sophomore after one year at a cc. Would it be considerably more difficult than getting in as say a biology major?
@genieforuboi I wouldn’t say it is inherently harder, but I noticed that sophomores (including me) that applied for Marshall had a tendency to be spring admits. I had a 4.0 and took 3/5 GE’s + all pre reqs too. Calculus 1+2 is mandatory/ essential and try to take as many other transferable classes as you can. I would look for articulation agreements for USC and your school and try to take those classes if possible. Following my advice and receiving a 3.7 or higher in those classes would be extremely competitive for admission.
@shortstop3 thanks. Did you get in through the trojan transfer program or were you just a “regular” transfer? Also i thought business majors were able to take math 118 or math 125 to satisfy the math requirement, not necessarily calc 1 and 2.
