My Son just got accepted. International US citizen, IB SAT 1370. Major: Industrial Design, not sure if direct major. He has a 25K scholarship at Parsons but still very interested in UWash. Anyone accepted in same major, please let me know.

Pretty good ECs, debate club for 4 years (VP junior year, Pres senior year), won several speech/debate competitions (alternate to state one year), Won several music competitions (including State Solo Ensemble for String quartet), performed at Benaroya Hall.

I applied to Biochemistry and got pre-sciences, I am hearing information like DA decisions besides business, engineering, and CS are getting released next month. If I just actually got rejected, should I even consider going here because of the competitive major system?

@mksmks2 all direct to college engineering students go in as “engineering undeclared.” They will still have to apply to which specific engineering program sophomore year, but they are pretty much guaranteed some kind of engineering degree.

@dylan4ever If you want biochem and got presciences, you’re in the right track!!! UW doesn’t give most people a major at admission. Pre science means you’re in track to take all the prerecs to declare a biochem major down the line! I applied informatics and got pre sciences which is exactly what I wanted. See you next fall!!!

My son’s portal doesn’t have anything on it at all. Does this mean he just hasn’t heard yet, or is there a problem?

Already said this but didn’t post stats.
