Official UW Transfer Thread 2020

I got accepted into Electrical Engineering department last Friday. And general admission was released yesterday. I haven’t received the mail for the gen admission yet, but the application status was loaded and also unofficial transcript.

In-state
Gpa 3.74 (problem with a re-taken humanities course: 2nd time got 1.1/4.0; explained in the application)
Prerequisites gpa 3.95
137 credits
SAT 1320
Some ECs

Has someone opened a Facebook group for the transfer students?

Do we get an email or do we need to check the portal? Still have not received anything

@poolsideconvo78 Def refresh your portal frequently as the decision tends to be posted there for a few hours before an email is actually sent out

@Josephill I didn’t see any for this year. It’s a great idea to start one!

Another ‘wonderful’ day without UW decision lol…

I have opened a Facebook transfer group. Its name is “UW Transfer Students–2020.” Please feel free to join!

@Josephill do you mind posting the link to the group here? thanks!!

I am not quite sure how to successfully post a link on CollegeConfidential. It seems this website doesn’t allow us to post a link tho. I will try.

Unofficial transcript loaded, accept offer page loaded, Application status not updated, No email received,
unofficial transcript says prescience, arts and science
Applied for summer

@ahellers Congrats on the admission! Would you be willing to post your stats?

Has anyone who only applied for general admission heard back yet? Also did anyone also apply to Bothell? I couldn’t apply to my major right now because I didn’t have all of my prerequisites complete, so I only applied for general admission. I got accepted into Western and I have to notify them June 1st but I’m still waiting on Seattle and Bothell!

@stassie18

A lot of people heard back from general admission with their major admission. I believe most recently it was Foster School. Just earlier Ahellers got in just through general admission as a pre-major based on his unofficial transcript loading (Summer Quarter). Which means Ahellers could possibly hear from general admissions soon. Hopefully, Summer and Fall decisions are the same time frame and not in June for Fall students.

Hi guys. Does anyone know if you can only refresh your unofficial transcript once per day? I’m asking because the ‘Time prepared’ on my unofficial transcript always display the time I tried every morning and it doesn’t change anymore during the whole day. Does it happen to everyone? Or the time prepared doesn’t change because my unofficial transcript doesn’t change.

Admitted to Arts and Science (applied for psychology)
In-state
WA CC
GPA 3.57
Did not take SAT/ACT due to COVID
(I was 5 credits shy of not having to take SAT/ACT and UW offered to waive them as we were in the midst of thinking the world was ending when I put my application in)

I feel my essay was strong, but both my satisfaction and UWs evaluation are pretty subjective.

I have two years of volunteer experience at a nonprofit supporting public mental health and have recently taken a paid position there.

  • I may not be the best basis of comparison though, my situation is pretty unique. I am 33 years old and am on a two year release from the military in order to attend school full-time.

Looks like you’re the first Arts/Science person admitted. Congrats!
Did you apply for Fall Quarter?

You have pretty much the same stats as me - 3.6 gpa, instate wa cc, arts major - excited to see how this plays out for me.

@123a123b

He applied for summer quarter, his stats may be the same as you. Though him volunteering in a nonprofit and as a veteran it really defines him as a person. Anyways, good luck to you.

Agreed!

Thanks guys, Im happy that we have come to an agreement that I am a person  @123a123b Im hoping that you hear soon. maybe mine came out sooner since it was a summer application.
Has anyone been able to get onto the FB group? I searched the group title but couldn’t find it.

I couldn’t find it either… it’ll be helpful if we have the URL to the page
