<p>There is a lot of confusion around this, and many articles treat SCEA and REA as synonymous. However, as I believe previous posters have shown, there is a difference. Single Choice Early Action means that you can only apply to that school EA, whereas REA is less restrictive and means that you cannot apply if you are also applying to an Early Decision school. Some schools will allow you to apply to them and and ED school and then just withdraw your application if you get in to the ED school. For REA schools, you cannot apply to them EA if you are also applying somewhere ED. The quoted posts from the GTown and BC websites bear this out.</p>
