Official Wash U RD Decisions - Class of 2011

I know that a number of schools do this. I think it is because they have dorm rooms that open up in spring semester as many Juniors take a semester abroad.

Need advice, there is not drop out from the first semester of the freshman class, could be one or two that take the semester off. January program uses the available housing left for those talking a semester abroad (usually juniors), for that reason, these students are placed in upperclassmen dorms (I believe there are all singles).

S was accepted to January program. Very happy. Will probably attend summer and fall sessions but both are optional.

Congratulations woody! It’s a very good idea to attend both sessions, I know kids that did that and now are ahead of the class.

Hey, I’ve been crazy busy lately, so I haven’t even had time to post on CC!

General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc:
Have fun at WashU if you’re going there!

when did these decisions come out? i applied but when i tried to check the status the page said i didn’t send my application in, which is weird because when i checked a week earlier it said they had received everything!

Try to check again b/c maybe you mistyped something while trying to access the site, Lennni. Once I typed 99 instead of 88 for birth date and it still let me log in, but it said there was no file for me registered.

I applied and was accepted ED, but just out of curiosity I’ve been reading these posts. Multicultural weekend and expense paid visits have been mentioned often- what is multicultural weekend and who gets to go?

A few ppl who applied RD (i don’t know about ED), got early acceptances and with them came a notice about multicultural weekend, where you get to visit (all expenses paid) washu’s campus, hang out with students in dorms, attend classes, and just get a feel for the washu community. It lasts for 4 days, and it’s not just for minorities as caucasian applicants were accepted for it.
