Official Yale 2011 Scea Thread

Is anyone here opposed to the idea of a countdown? If so, speak now or forever hold your peace (or at least until Dec. 15…which is basically forever!!!)

45 days…

It’s one of those things you can’t wait for… but also dread…

Exactly! One day I feel very confident, and the next I am sure I will be rejected (none of my extracurriculars stand out, my essay isn’t that good, etc. etc.)

exactly! It is nerve-wrecking!

confirmation of the use of the credit card does pop up on the screen-use that if you need to prove you submitted your application by the deadline.

they won’t really be THAT strict, will they?

ida what are you referring to?

I just submitted by application… yay! it’s finally off my chest!

Now… the waiting. Although I’m sure I’ll be busy enough to make it not seem like a terribly long time…

I haven’t submitted my application yet. My mom decided to take the risk of submitting it too late and not letting me submit it until tomorrow. I swear, my blood pressure goes up so much because of her. I just hope that it gets in even though I’m submitting it online. Commonapp.org is still letting me work on the app and click on the SCEA option button, so I hope that’s a good sign.

OH. MY. GOD. I just applied to Yale. And when I clicked the button all I could think of was “I can’t wait to post on that ‘Did you submit your application?’” thread. Which I will now do.

Oh and I’ve had a live countdown for a while now. It’s here.

wow, nice countdown. I’m bookmarking that :)

Well I hope to God it allows us to submit online on Nov 1 - just got it in 3am EST. I had 11/1 in green, and Yale is still considered REA so things look fine. Then again, it would be stupid if they cut it off at Oct 31 midnight online - we could just mail it at the post office.

It would also be stupid to cut it off on 10/31 when the common app says 11/1. That would upset a large number of applicants.

Dear Student,

I am writing to remind you that we will not receive your Common Application for Yale until you submit the Yale Supplement. The Supplement is also found on the Common Application web site and must be submitted by midnight October 31st (EST) if you would like to be considered under the Early Agreement program.

Thank you for your interest in Yale.

I received this email Mon 10/30/2006 2:44 PM

I wasn’t planning on sumbitting my application until today, but then I read mallomar’s post and decided that I definately didn’t want to chance being pushed over to RD. So I went ahead and sumbitted mine; I guess I was just procrastinating anyway, since it was completed.

Good luck to everyone!

It let me submit mine today, SCEA and all.

I didn’t mean to coerce anyone. I just wanted to inform you all. That’s why I posted the email without any comments.

ummm WHEN we get into Yale, we will most certainly start multiple ridiculously large revolutions…the largest, of course, will regard reclaiming our rightful identity…hot jalebi and masala dosai will be readily available.

when we get into Yale… AHHH ;)

Koena, that was a very random post, I can’t for the life of me find what prompted it. But I could certainly go for some masala dosai…so greasy though, and I’ve already had some of that this week along with the requisite truckload of Halloween candy.

I think it was in response to my post about Indians taking over the world.

I’m not such a big fan of jalebi. I’m more of a gulab jaman kinda guy.
