Official Yale 2011 Scea Thread

I seriously want to get some friends to come over and play old school video games or something on the 15th. But I have classes all day and I have to stay after school until 4. It SUCKS. Unless if I take a day off from school, which is quite possible.

Koena, theoneo, and others working on the Robertson Scholars Application, it says on the website that the deadline was just moved to December 3rd at 12PM EST!!! More sleep for me tonight I guess lol.;)

My name comes from my initials, which spell JAG. JAG was first used as a nickname for me by my 8th grade english teacher when she got confused between my real first name, the one on her roster, and the name I have always used since birth, my middle name, Alex. She just started calling me by my initials and it stuck. I now respond to six different variations of my name.

Ahhh EAD I knowww!! I actually didn’t even look at it last night, because I got the email that pushed back the deadline at like 4 in the afternoon.

I just finished OSU…what a release…it’s sooo nice to send these out.

As for my sn, it’s pretty self-explanatory. I wasn’t in a very creative place when I made it. But I like my name, so I guess it’s cool lol.

STUPid Affirmative action Korean- this is something my best friend called me junior year. i thought it was funny

Darn thats funny cause a kid named Stewart at my school is called Stupac… but mostly cause it rhymes with Tupac and he’s about as far away from gangsta rapper as you can get… I hoped you might have a similar story, but alas.

I propose a ban on “chances” threads. Because really? Really.

I propose not responding to “chances” threads anymore. Oh wait, I already did that.

Actually the primary reason I avoided the forum at first was the incredible amounts of useless chances threads.

Glad to be here anyway. EST afternoon of the 15th is predawn the 16th in Seoul, which means I will be able to enjoy rejection/acceptance/deferral in the peace and quiet.

I just try to ignore the chances threads, though there really are way too many right now.

I have to stop reading CC. It’s only making me obsess more and more. There has to be a better way to kill 12 days’ worth of time!

jwing…exactly what time do decisions come out?

Last year they were out at 4:30 EST, I think.

12 dayssss…I’ve started to realize that this is coming up wayyy faster than I thought…ahhh…so exciting…so nerve-wracking

These last two weeks are gonna be the hardest; right now the days seem to go by soooo slowly. Like today, I thought to myself, “Thank God that this Friday I’ll know…oh wait, no, that’s the NEXT Friday…” :p

how do the chances people rate their essays and recs anyway?

I mean, some teachers are surprisingly horrible writers–they might write horrible recommendations without meaning to.

If their teachers let them read their recs, or if they’ve written them recs before. And if it’s an English teacher, I doubt they’re a horrible writer.

Yeah, but occassionally I give the threads a look and am pleasantly surprised when major beef has broken out on the thread!! Oh drama…

Hey for everyone fed up with chances threads… this is a pretty funny spoof on the dartmouth board.

Noo! It’s gone!

Haha darn, that’s because it was ridiculously offensive… It asked if being arrested for committing a rather… unspeakable act on a horse would hurt his chances for admission. It was really funny though.
