well. based on the fact that those who lurk around CC are obviously college interested, if not college obssessed… you guys are at the top of the demographic pool as far as test scores/stats go. so. better than the average applicant, for sure :)

true true. makes me feel a lot better now that you put it that way :)

but i’m still not going to get my hopes up too high. couldn’t stand being deferred/rejected twice when i desperately looked forward to acceptance lol

We’ll see. March 31, right?

Yeah, March 31st.

but I’m not going to check my decision online this time…I’m going to wait to get all my college decision letters that week and open them, one by one…with yale last. D:

^You’ll know whether or not you got in by the size of the envelope…

^Really? My interviewer said that the envelope containing his acceptance letter looked no different than his friend’s envelope containing a rejection letter.
But then again that was a while ago, so who knows.

well acceptance is a lot bigger since they mail you all your forms, info, and stuff.

and rejection is just a tiny letter saying how sorry they couldn’t accept you, lol.

so i’m just logging in that night in the reverse order of places i want to attend aka the possibility of acceptance is exponentially decreasing. = opening yale last.

i wish i could have all the letters/decisions at once! gosh that moment would be so emotional and adrenaline filled!

I dont have the patience for that. I’ll do it in order of preference, yale first

both tristan101 and pigs -
– me too. Most schools’ decisions are released the first week of april, right? I don’t even know how I’m going to be able to do anything that week without having a nervous breakdown…one school on dec.15th was bad enough, 9 schools in one week are going to kill me :p

if 9 schools kill you, imagine what 14 schools would do!! i pray to god I don’t have a heart attack

lol i’ve waited 18 years. 2 extra minutes won’t kill me, right?
plus, i’d like to know that i have someplace to go as i open up decisions, and not be bombarded with a rejection that ruins the fun right off the bat.

sooo true. luckily, 3 of my schools come out like a week earlier and those are the ones that are ‘slightly’ easier to get into, so i’ll hope for the best.

that is gonna be one crazy night.

It seems like last year the date most Ivies followed was 3/31 near 5 pm. Finding about so many schools within one week is bad. One day, worse. One hour? A few minutes apart? DX

And I thought waiting for 12/15 was bad. Oh God.

Well, 12/15 was compounded by the fact that if we didn’t get in, we’d have to do more apps… Soon, with apps out of the way, I don’t think the wait will be so long. I mean it’s far enough away that we won’t even care, and we’ll be too busy being the “studious seniors” that we all are to realize how much time is left.

That’s true. But by late-March, early-April, I won’t be so busy (even with ECs and classes), therefore doing away with some means of escape from the anxiety.

SO true. that was godawful.
after seeing my deferral:
1st thing that came to my mind- I’m sad I don’t get to go to yale
2nd thing- CRAP I have 7 apps to do in 2 weeks

^exactly what I thought, too…I wish yale’s notification had been earlier so we would’ve had an extra weekend to work on apps.

Well my grades and test scores were great but definitely not perfect. In my essays I tried to sell myself, but mostly I concentrated on entertaining the reader. I wrote them like I’d write extremely short stories. I believe that was why I was accepted.

Ok so I’ll do this then.

^ Nice. Are you going to Yale then?

lol You know, I think I’m going to open Yale first. I’ve already been deferred once, a rejection/waitlist wouldn’t be that bad, I guess.
