Official Yale EA 2013 Hopeful Thread

classof09- it’s in part because everyone is so liberal, most are turned off by Princeton. I’m the first exception in a long time who people actually think has a shot. We get kids into Yale, though, but we send a hell of a lot of applications.

No, I haven’t thought of anything to write for my supplement. I’m really stumped.

does any one know the inner-workings of the process? ive mentioned before that im using Nov. SAT scores, which will most likely make it before the committee convenes. But do the readers look at my app even though its technically not complete before that time? ill have everything in by middle of october im sure. If they do wait, I mean they’ll read it right before the committee meets…I’m afraid they’ll get the wrong impression.

another question - should I send a score report of my scores currently so they have the scores as of now? and then send the Nov. 1 with the SAT recipients?

I think I’m just about completely done. I need to send my scores and figure out teacher recs, but all of the written stuff is completely done or awfully close to it.

^ i envy you

You know all of us are going to get rejected, just like that Yale hopeful Facebook group.

I have one essay done, and all the info etc. filled out.

I’m almost done. I just need to tweak the essays. I finished the Short Takes two days after the supp. came out! I think getting done with most of my apps before school starts (next week) will be the only thing keeping me from going crazy…

School hasn’t started for you?!? O_o. I’m almost finishing my 3rd week…

We start next Tuesday!

Someone please tell me why Barack is so ballin

next wednesday for us

next thursday for me! :)

i had no idea what ‘short takes’ you guys were talkin about until i saw the supplement. grrrrrrrr. more work .lol

eating food: It’s one of life’s big questions.

I actually was for once not a procrastinator and wrote my essays this week (granted, I was at my grandma’s house with no technology to distract me haha).

its not closed to finished though. it was really hard to write them without a comp to edit stuff as I went along. but im so happy the first stage done

Oh man, I’m so jealous of all of you guys for finishing your essays. I am having a serious case of writer’s block. I’ve written one, but I just can’t seem to come up with another topic that I’m happy with. Urgh.

another yale hopeful here
i wrote some essays for app, but they all seem crap… but i guess i have another 3 months to improve it…
just wondering, anyone doing IB dip?

Who wrote something on the Common Application “Additional Information” at the end? I’m pondering whether I should write or something or not. Then again, I’m not sure if I have any “additional qualifications.”

Ahh, I’m so stressed out! I think Yale is my first choice, and I just don’t know how good my chances are. I’ve barely started on my applications, but I’m a little big more confident about my credentials. I got 2380 SATs, three 800 SAT IIs, 5 APs I got 5s on, and a 4.5 weighted GPA. Do you think extracurriculars will matter a lot? I’m a little bit less confident about my ECs.

yay how many of us got nat’l merit semi?!

yo eating food, ur not allowed to discuss that until sept 10th.

^ uhn?..
