Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2024 Admission

Did anyone get the nice letter from OSU president welcoming us? Ours arrived today. Did others receive this and when did you get it?

My daughter’s notification came by mail so hang in there. Could take a while.

Just got it. Thought it was merit :frowning: still have to wait

Me too. Hoping it was merit but it was a nice letter regardless.

D24 Dec admit finally got her scholarships today - National Buckeye and Trustee (although NPC said Provost). No word on Honors yet though. Is that normal? I might have her call admissions and ask.

I just recieved my scolarship. Trustee (1000 per year) and National Buckeye (13500 per year). So 58k in total! Yay

Same here!

I am wondering if getting a letter from the president is INSTEAD of merit. Sigh. Don’t mean to be a downer.

I hope not. But I assume that’s a pretty easy theory to test

Don’t worry! It’s not. We got both.

Anybody know if test optional hurt chances of getting merit?

I don’t think so. We got the letter from the president and a letter about merit and few weeks ago. It was sent to everyone.

You could try the NPC with and without test scores to get an approximation and see if it changes

Thanks. I tried that but says since we didnt take SAT it does not calculate merit. Then it says we do not need the SAT to receive merit. So guess its unclear.

anyone know the qualifications for the Buckeye scholarship?

They say it’s a holistic process. Curious if there are cutoffs.

Is it common to be admitted to the university honors program but not receive any scholarahips?

D got her scholarships in mail on Feb 2nd and received honors email at 11pm this past Friday night. Good luck!

So did ours. Honors by email on Friday, Buckeye (no additional, just Buckeye), letter dated earlier this week.

Our school doesn’t calculate class rank or weighted GPA, and it limits APs to 3 per last two years (he is taking 7 tests, one on his own), so I’m wondering if that is what causes us to miss out on the Maximus/Provost etc. But it is fine. It was a big worry applying to state schools not to have all of the APs but it has worked out just fine.
