Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2024 Admission

Not sure - we are the opposite. No honors, but we did get the scholarship.

Same here. No honors but received the Buckeye scholarship.

That does seem odd to me - I would call to ask about it.

I think merit vs honors are two separate departments

Did you ever receive your merit? I haven’t and its mid march. I was accepted during the first batch of EA results too

S24 is OOS from CA, he received merit letter in Feb and no honor email yet. He emailed tOSU, they replied saying that honor email will send out until end of March.

I have been admitted to the Scholars Program (Unsure when I filled this out) and I have still not received any merit. I was really hoping for the Buckeye scholarship for out-of-state, but unfortunately still haven’t received anything.

Should I send an email to financial aid or cross off tOSU
This sucks too because I live less than 3 hours away in Pennsylvania and is still one of my top options.

Still waiting unfortunately

You definitely could try asking - just make sure you are polite.

S24 just got admitted to Scholars Program now, got his merit letter back in Feb.

Yep
you’re probably right. And I can understand cases where students receive merit aid, but are not admitted to the honors program. The other way around (admitted to honors, but no merit aid) seems a little odd.

Is scholars hard to get or something? I got rejected honors but into scholars. Don’t know much about it

should we call their office and ask? would that gice us a better chance or at least an answer?

If it was me, I’d probably call and ask politely. If nothing else you might get additional insight into the process and timing of any additional merit awards (if there are any)

I would just add that even though your situation seems odd on the surface, I wouldn’t necessarily assume there’s an error on OSU’s part. Colleges often use merit to entice students in specific majors and/or from specific (usually underrepresented) areas of the country. Still wouldn’t hurt to give them a call. Best of luck!

Scholars is a nice program only offered to incoming freshman. The scholars have specific dorms they are housed in and a special advisor. It is possible to add honors later at OSU.

Admitted 12/8
Notified about Honors 12/15

I would call and ask. We didn’t receive anything about merit in the mail but when I called I was told my son received two scholarships.

who do you call?

Admissions can help. I said that we hadn’t received anything and just wanted to confirm that was accurate.
