Sorry to hear that - my OOS kid’s stats were much the same as yours, but did get accepted EA. It may depend on the program, as my kid’s was in A&S. But we’re having similar experiences at other schools getting rejected or waitlisted while similar stat students are accepted. Very unpredictable this year.
Hi all. DD applied regular decision, so only was accepted recently to the business school.
She just received an email that they couldn’t offer her a spot in the honors college, but encouraged her to apply to the scholars program. However, in looking at the choices, the business one is not showing up. Anyone know if they are already full?
We are OOS, 3.85UW, 1530 SAT(800M/730V).
Already in honors/scholars programs at other business programs, so not having the option might sway the decision.
The living learning communities applications are still open and she might be interested in Global Business which offers a similar cohort.

I’d also reach out to scholars and see if it’s possible to be added to a waitlist for a currently unavailable scholars program if she is completely uninterested in the scholars programs she is currently being offered.
Remember, she can add honors later at Ohio State and doesn’t have to start in honors to graduate with honors.
Does one have to commit to OSU before applying for these LLCs?
You do not have to commit to apply.
- A submitted Living-Learning Community Application is due by April 15, 2024. No late applications will be accepted. You do not have to wait until you are accepted to Ohio State and/or receive your housing contract to apply.
- Students will receive an update on their application status by April 30, 2024.

Would love to hear some pros and cons about the LLCs…thanks!
Does anyone know about IBE (integrated business & engineering)? Only 36 people get into each track each year (18 engineering, 18 business majors).
What’s the acceptance rate for this program and how many people apply on average?
When do decisions come out? Thanks
perhaps, it is similar to the purdue IBE program. you can take a look there.
My daughter received a decision today for the IBE program.
Me too!!! I got in to the SI track and hope she got good results
She did! Thank you!! She had applied to and was accepted to the traditional IBE program as a business major. Congratulations to you on your acceptance.
Does anyone know when aid package will be released? I noticed last week the financial aid page of buckeyelink changed from “no financial aid to view” and now there’s a bar for financial aid 2025 but I try to click it and nothing pops up.
anyone try an appeal to receive some or more merit?
Ohio State says they will not match scholarships, because they find that matching scholarships won’t increase yield.
When is the final financial package expected to be on the portal? I hope we can see before the May 1 deadline - is there any form date from the university on this?
They moved the undergraduate acceptance deadline to May 15. See the dropdown What to Do Now at After you are admitted - Columbus campus freshmen - The Ohio State University
“If you are admitted for autumn term, pay this $100 nonrefundable fee by May 1 May 15 .”
Are you instate, out of state or international? There isn’t much aid for internationals. Out of state is usually limited to merit scholarships and federal need based aid. In state has some good need based aid. The net price calculator can estimate need based aid. It’s not great at estimating costs since it uses past CoA numbers.
I think most university merit dollars (National Buckeye, Maximus, Provost, Trustee) have been awarded already, you can also contact them and ask in case you missed a notification if you were awarded anything. One of the last awards to go out is the Land Grant, which is a competitive merit full ride for instate students that are Pell eligible (only 2 are awarded per county).
They usually send an email to your BuckeyeMail when your financial aid package is ready to view. Double check your To Do List on BuckeyeLink to be sure they aren’t waiting on something from you to move forward - this is especially important to maximize financial aid eligibility or if you plan to take student loans. Thanks so much- I am OOS actually. Is there a deadline for Housing contract? I have been accepted to honors college and wanted to check of there is a earlier deadline to apply for housing.
As long as you meet the commit deadline you should get housing. Housing contracts come after students commit.
Housing assigns dorms for the incoming freshman, you will list some area and rate preferences. If you are in a scholars or living learning program, those are usually in specific dorms.
“Beginning in mid-March Student Life Housing and Residence Education will email students each week based on the date they paid their Acceptance Fee to the University. Students will receive an e-mail sent to their Ohio State email account with details on how to apply for campus housing.”
“The contracts are typically due two weeks after the email is sent to you. A confirmation of receipt will be sent to your Ohio State e-mail address. Typically, assignment information will be sent around mid-July.”

There was an April 15 deadline to apply for living learning communities (some are honors cohorts). Living learning decisions will be out by April 30.
Still no notification basis Fafsa - has anybody received it?
