Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2025 Admission

In-State is Ohio State, obviously a great engineering school and the Engineering Scholars program he’s been selected to sounds very encouraging! Couple that with Anduril building a new plant in Central Ohio, that should provide for more aerospace jobs.

He’s quite passionate about astronautical engineering, as he’s interned at NASA the past two years. Some schools have more of a focus and connection to the space industry, Maryland among them.

Thanks again for all the advice, everyone! We’ll visit each. RPI did offer a great scholarship, but he’s also grown up with the “rah rah” school spirit and really wants a traditional college experience. Well, as much as any engineering student can!

My DD was accepted EA. She is waiting to hear from several other schools.
Can someone explain (again, sorry!) the housing situation…Does she need to accept her admission in order to sign up for housing? Is it a race to accept asap? She has no idea is she will end up going to OSU since she hasn’t made any decisions…but doesn’t want to get a bad dorm if she waits to accept. If she accepts and fills out the housing form, can she just cancel if she doesn’t decide to go there. Thx!

They say accepting early helps but based on last year it seemed there was no correlation between acceptance deposit date and housing. Again they say it helps. You can also pay more for a tier 1 dorm and put preferences including north or south campus. Hard to tell what you should do. Go bucks!

My son heard today- he applied EA- we are OOS and he got the Prominence Scholarship. Super excited for him, although he is not sure about OSU, he is going to need to check it out.

My son had an update in the Applicant Center today, with a notification of the Buckeye Scholarship! :raised_hands: There was a new button called “Merit Scholarship” with a link to a letter. I don’t think he had an email about it, so keep checking your portals!

Is your student in the scholars or honors program? Is she interested in any of the LLC’s? You don’t have to commit to apply to an LLC and if she’s in scholars her dorm is assigned based on that. As long as you meet their deadlines, there is no hurry they will assign housing for her.

Even if you sign a contract, she won’t know until over the summer after everyone else has also turned in their contracts and housing has completed assigning dorms where she will be housed.

Personally, I’d wait until her other results are out. Has she applied to the additional scholarships via ScholarshipUniverse?

It seems like one person has received the National Buckeye Scholarship so far, congrats! Has anyone else received merit info? Assuming it is released on a rolling basis.

Yes we did today. Buckeye scholarship. OOS. No email - it was in the portal.

How much is the Buckeye scholarship?

would you mind sharing your stats?

Any info on other scholarships yet? Our S25 is asleep and only he can get into his Buckeye account because of the facial recognition.
