<p>I might make the trip to BBB today to look at a George Foreman grill for son’s apartment. I have never used one or even seen one but someone told me that my son might use it to cook chicken. Son also wants a Magic Bullet. I saw them at Costco so will compare the prices. My son still has not had contact with the two other apartment mates so I am hate the idea of shopping blindly. What are the odds that I will get my son to sit down and make a list or dare even enter any store to actually buy anything for this apartment.
I don’t mind shopping. My H hates to shop. He is one of those shoppers who only go into a store if he needs a specific item. He has a set wardrobe that he doesn’t vary from. Every Nordies July sale he buys 4 new pairs of the shorts he likes to wear to work. D2 did buy a pair of boots at the sale. I remember years when I would wake up early and hit that sale when the store opened.
Alwaysamom- my 15 yr old absolutely loves to go to the grocery store. She loves going up and down each aisle.</p>
<p>Just an aside: I have a lot of “good” purses. Yes, some are 30 years old. (A LV bucket bag from high school which is older than that). But the rain purse is, by definition, one that is the sacrifical lamb. (And yes, once when we were visiting New York…sans rain purse…I asked housekeeping for a large plastic bag which I put in my purse. An unseasonable rain shower which was threatening broke out. Out came the plastic bag…deposited purse in said bag…and the bag was safe.) I also love BBB…they have stuff that you never knew that you needed.</p>

<p>Wegman’s is, by far, my favorite grocery store. They are very well run and their training is better than anyone else’s in the business. I’m still hoping for them to expand into Canada. We have a vacation home in upstate NY and I’m fortunate to be able to shop at Wegman’s whenever we’re there.</p>

cannot shop, got Medical School tuition (hopefully!) in couple of years. It might run $50k/year without living expenses. You got to find different place than CC to get them shopping!</p>
<p>While I truly hate to shop, I do not consider grocery shopping as shopping, it is an extension of cooking, which I love to do. Like always a mom I pop into grocery stores whenever I am in a new place. My favorite grocery shopping is in small stores, markets, the butcher, the baker, etc., but I do big stores as well. Grocery shopping is a form of cultural exploration and one of the best ways to get to know a new place is to shop for groceries.</p>
<p>I hate to carry a purse – maybe that’s why I hate to shop?</p>

I hate to shop also, and in my opinion, grocery shopping is very much shopping. I do it only when i absolutely have to and I never carry my purse, I will definately leave it in a store. I just put credit card and car keys in a pocket, making sure that I wear something with the pocket to the store. Will it work?</p>
<p>I have left more purses then ellebud owns I think. I pretty much use my pockets for everything. Sigh, it is the only advantage I think men have.</p>
<p>As to grocery shopping, I really love shopping in the neighborhood markets in Florence where I would discuss what I was going to make with each vendor. There was a man who sold just little bits of homemade pasta from a little stand around the corner from our apartment – he and I could spend twenty minutes discussing the way to cook what he was selling that day. My proudest day was when I came up with a recipe he hadn’t tried! But I guess that isn’t really grocery shopping</p>

<p>My purses all become pocketbooks when they go with me to visit my “mama” in Virginia. Lunch becomes dinner. Dinner becomes supper. Fireflies become lightnin’ bugs.</p>
<p>Did anyone else also grow up with “bureau” (what is referred to today as a dresser, a long piece of furniture in which clothing is kept)? I still say that and my kids say I sound really old.</p>
<p>My mother, born and bred in Brooklyn used the word “pocketbook” and bureau for years. I remember saying to her, with horror, that NO ONE said pocketbook, which was the chief offender. I would love to hear her say that now.</p>

<p>My Alabama-born mom used to call the dresser in a bedroom a chest of drawers. When I was little, I thought she was saying “chester drawers”. I called it that for a long time until someone set me straight when I was about 8! :o</p>

I am happy to say that I have single handedly contributed to the increase in your stock value. Until a few months ago I was not a frequent BB&B shopper (except to order wedding gifts from registrys) but with our house remodel I have been practically living there, and bought a TON of stuff. They really are the only game in town now, and have a good selection (though it took going to 4 different stores to accomplish that.)</p>
<p>WARNING!!! According to several store clerks, they are going to stop accepting expired coupons at some point in the not-too-distant future. Some stores already have. So, go SHOP, SHOP, SHOP and use the $5, $10 and 20% off coupons. Dont forget they also work at Harmon’s drug stores.</p>
