Ole Miss Fall 24 Admissions

We couldn’t find it either.

We emailed: admissions@olemiss.edu and they sent it to us

We went through every email, piece of paper mail, text message, and anything else we could think of and never could find it. He has an email box dedicated to college applications and hasn’t deleted anything. He was able to text his admissions officer today, and she sent it to him. Whew! It is so odd because I know he was in the application previously because he copied out the prompts so he could work on them offline. I admit that I wasn’t above reminding him that if he hadn’t waited until the last minute, this wouldn’t have been such a big deal! :grimacing:

Does Ole Miss consider unweighted or weighted GPA for merit scholarships? My kid has a 32 ACT but a sucky UGPA

I am not sure but they sent out the first round of merit scholarships back in November. I’m not sure when you had to be admitted by to be in that round.

How do you know when you’ve been accepted? All I see is this: Detailed information regarding your admission to The University of Mississippi will be mailed to you shortly.

Does it come by snail mail?

It is displayed online when admitted. Go to the “check your application status” page. Login, and then under the “Application Status” heading you’ll see a line item noting admittance. My son’s reads: “You were successfully admitted into the following program: B.B.A. in General Business”. He also received a snail mail a week or two later.

Ah, then no answer yet. My Application Status reads
“Your application for admission has been created in the student information system.”

Additional line items will be added when the decision comes out. Just for reference, my son’s full Application Status section shows the following:

Just saw in the portal that he was accepted for Political Science.

Now, merit? How? When?

Congratulations. I’m not sure if the merit would be awarded sooner but it is my understanding that March is the next time that scholarships and honors college will be announced.

Question- is automatic merit stackable?

My kid has chapter 35 VA benefits, so even though he applied out of state, he will be charged the in-state rate. He received automatic merit for out of state students (so, more than the tuition he will actually pay in-state). Does anyone know if he will be able to use the additional for housing or will they take back the “out of state” amount.

I was told the OOS merit portion comes in form of nonresident waiver and could only be used on OOS tuition. My question was regarding a different benefit so worth emailing financial aid to confirm.

Yeah, that’s what I figured. I’ll ask. Thank you.

Anyone know when we should expect to hear back on the Special Programs & Scholarship Application that was due on January 10?

Anyone heard yet on competitive scholarships ??? Not merit, just competitive. Also, did anyone get into honors program and mind sharing stats??

My son got in honors. 4.7W/4.0UW, 1400, 10 APs also Student Council President and lots of ECs. Most likely will choose South Carolina Honors College though there is a lot to love about Ole Miss too.

The other day, we were told they are still on track for a mid March. No specific date given by rep.

My daughter sent email yesterday and they told her mid April for scholarship notification!!! Nothing until then due to FAFSA. Not sure why they can’t hand out competitive now and then FAFSA later, but we cannot wait that long. We are committing elsewhere as we don’t think she will get as much from them as she did from her other school.
