I’m guessing they are wearing white because it’s before Labor Day - a rule in the Ralph Lauren rule book! 
US and Russia already in competition for who will have the ugliest uniform. Russia won. Their men look like doormen from a second rate Manhattan coop.

That’s funny because I told my husband that Russia was trying to “out-American” the American uniforms.
Are our/some Olympic outfits supposed to be ugly and I was just never let in on the joke? (Dead serious question.)
I also vote for Tonga. In addition to the shiny guy their team uniforms are nice too.
Great Britain, Ireland, and India had bad outfits. I love all the brighter colors, but tasteful neutrals are fine too. Boring neutrals and bad pants are too prevalent!
I think I like the Caribbean, Pacific Island, and African nations’ outfits the best overall.
Not every country gets much funding for the uniforms. Indian female team members wore the traditional sari with a blue blazer.
Watching it delayed PDT. BORING!!! Beijing’s opening ceremony was much better.
I enjoyed it a lot. I liked it’s simplicity.
As for Team USA wearing the Russian flag, their flags blue strip isn’t navy blue.
The huge stupid pony is much worse.
Mr. says they should ditch Ralph Lauren and use Psycho Bunny as the supplier of the uniforms. The logo is much cooler.

My vote for the best dressed team goes to Italy! Their understated uniforms are perfectly tailored. B-)
Scratch that. Latvia, the land of my distant ancestors, left Italy in the dust. The white dresses with matching cropped jackets were awesome.
