I am really having a hard time trying to figure out a way to stand out (outside of having a creative supplement) as an OOS, female applicant. Is it looked favorably upon or not to send extra work? I know extra rec’s don’t go over too well. Does anyone have any suggestions?

bump bump bump please:)

I’m applying OOS also, but I have no idea how to increase my chances. Are you sending in a teacher rec?

yep…but other than that i am clueless.

Honestly ask yourself if your extra work is good. If you play an instrument ok, or once you made a good picture, or you “play the guitar” (at the level of 99% of high school kids, aka horribly) it’s doubtful they want to look at your extra work. If you send something extra that’s crappy, that is probably not good at all. So, if you have something awesome to send, send it, but don’t dig around for something you hope they will like.

Put your effort into your application and essay[s] and supplement.
