OOS engineering chances

I found this website and I was wondering if it is easier for an OOS student to get into engineering rather than the CAS. If you go to engineering, could you later transfer to McIntire.

here’s the site…

Generally, the percent admitted is higher for the E-school. Just remember, you can’t transfer until for your third year. Your first year will be spent in the E-school, and you most likely will have a lower GPA than you would in CAS, thus making your chances for McIntire a bit lower. If you don’t want to do engineering, I definently would not apply to the E-school just to get into UVa. You’ll just end up hating life for a year, since I think you have to complete a year before you could transfer to CAS from the E-school.

Best advice? If you want to do McIntire, apply CAS. You can then get your pre-reqs for McIntire done, get a solid GPA, and go on to McIntire.
