Opening night!!!

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying opened at my son’s HS tonight and was an unqualified success! S was an adorable sneak as Finch and nailed all his songs - Las Vegas, watch out!

I enjoyed the humble satisfaction of painting the stage, the desks, and the washstands, as well as hemming pants, doing the publicity and procuring tuxes from the local formal wear shop - go drama mamas and papas! I will greatly miss being involved with HS theatre - the kids are great and have incredible enthusiasm.

Another performance tomorrow night, then a week’s break before the final two (in time to bone up for AP tests) - so THE DISCUSSION is (finally!) on for this weekend. Powerball was up to $47 million today…I still have time to buy a ticket…none of you should buy one, it will mess up my odds.

Wow, I’m so glad it went well, isn’t that adrenaline and enthusiasm contagious?! Backstage parental helping-out is a wonderful way to experience that energy, and get well-deserved thanks from the kids at the same time, and I know how much you’ll miss it.

Good luck with The Discussion, we’re waiting in the “Final Decisions” thread for the outcome…

Thats a fun one- I miss helping in the school musicals-one that
really took a lot of work was Guys and Dolls - all those sequined hats & Pirates of Penzance ( the boys that I was helping with their “moustaches” & eyebrows were very picky- not to mention sewing brass buttons on all the police uniforms ( or was that for guys and dolls I don’t even remember now)
Enjoy your time.

That’s so wonderful! Congrats to your son for a GREAT performance! Our best kids/teens theater group will be doing “How to Succeed…” next spring as our teen show. My girls are very excited about it! Hope all of the rest go as smoothly as this one! ~berurah
