Opting out of the SBAC?

Im a junior at a public california highschool. The SBAC is coming up in a month. Usually i have no problems taking standardized tests, but theres a problem with this one.

My school scheduled it the week before and after AP testing. It finishes the day before Finals Week and the week i have to retake the SAT. I am taking 3 AP classes.

Obviously, i am really dreading taking a test that will barely impact my future when i have so many others to focus on. Not to mention i have OCD and test taking is hell anyways.

Thus, my mom is allowing me to opt out of the SBAC.

How do I do this in california? I know my school wont want me to opt out since they get money for every student that takes it, but legally can they force me to take it?

Ant advice is much appreciated!

You should ask your counselor. In my school you can’t opt out. Some kids have tried to call in as absent for the day and skip it, but the school tracks those kids down and make them take it anyway. So you could try not taking it so you will take a makeup later on. Ask your counselor if the school gives the test at another date!
