Oscar Red Carpet 2016

I kind of love how Mad Max is sweeping everything. Love that movie although I know I’m probably in the minority here.

Love how they are giving it to the Academy tonight. Well done.

Hate the scroll, too.

Love Priyanka’s dress.

I thought Rachel McAdams dress was kind of meh.

No way!

Should I see Max Max? I guess I should look it up. I never considered seeing Mad Max.

@doschicos I also really liked Mad Max. Saw it twice, in fact. I thought it worked on so many levels.

So that is SIX for Mad Max by my count. Wow!

Rachel looked beautiful, as always. She has her whole family there tonight, parents, brother and her sister who is a make-up artist and who always does Rachel’s make-up. Go Canada! Biased because I know them, but they are a lovely family.

@alwaysamom,

That was nice about Rachel and her family. Happy to read that!

@dstark - Yes, especially if you like action movies. And since you like Charlize Theron, plus there are other attractive females. I bought the dvd.

@doschicos, I don’t really like action movies but I might make an exception in this case.

I’m not big on action movies, but I think “Mad Max” is stunning in the areas for which it has been recognized, its look and sound.

Mad Max is 2 hours of pure eye candy. It’s a trip.

Loved Chris Rock selling his daughter’s Girl Scout cookies to the audience.

Chris rock is doing a fantastic job. So much better on the hosting front than last year.

@dstark, Mad Max is worth seeing. It’s enormously imaginative, and its storytelling is sophisticated, I think: ostensibly “just” a chase film, it actually takes you into an entirely original world, and you see its myths, politics, history and culture – all with minimal dialogue and explanation. As a viewer you’re plunged into this world as quickly and brutally as Max himself. Oh, and Charlize Theron JUST. ROCKS.

Kate Winslet’s dress looks like it’s made from rubber. Weird.

Kate Winslet’s dress looks like it was made from melted down vinyl record albums.

The sound engineer on this must be the same guy who trashed the Emmys…pretty bad. When Sam Smith was singing, you could barely hear him or the music, lots of noise, too.

I thought Sly Stallone was a lock on the Supporting Actor category. That was a shock!

I’m thrilled that Mark Rylance won!

Love Louis C.K.!
