I don’t think we can blame CK for a stupid thief who wanted real pearls or nothing. At least he gave the dress back.
The dress was returned in a trash bag after the thief found out the pearls were worthless. That’s when it became amusing. Before that real or not it was still a stolen dress. The whole reason for lending her the dress was publicity, as always.
Because the mani-cam is sexist. Female actors are always asked about their dresses, jewelry, manicures. Male actors are asked about more serious stuff. Many females want to be treated as serious actors, not just eye candy. It’s become a symbol of the gender inequality in the entertainment industry.
Really? I hear them asking the male actors what they are wearing. Besides, its women who watch Live On The Red Carpet and they watch because they want to see what the women actors are wearing. If I want to hear actors of either gender discuss more serious stuff, I watch Inside The Actors Studio for that.
You may want to watch. That doesn’t mean all the female actors want to be known for that. I would think it would get tiresome if all the questions were about what I wore not about my body of work. If at your job, your boss and coworkers commented on your clothes while your coworker John was asked about his next big project, my guess is you’d be a little miffed, too. Maybe th don’e females in the Hollywood community would care less about it if they felt they had the same opportunities for roles and equal pay, but they don’t.
In my house, its my hubby that likes to watch the red carpet. I find it dull although I love movies and the Oscars themselves but fashion is definitely not my thing.
So, they have their panties in a twist over the mani cam but have no problem walking the red carpet and preening for the crowd and photogs and apparently have no problem telling the reporters who they are wearing, showing off the jewels they are wearing and the shoes and even the bags they are carrying. Okey dokey.
Some have refused to talk about their outfits as well, not just refusing the mani-cam. Since they are going to the event, of course they are dressed formally and the red carpet is the entrance, but some have taken a stand against fashion talk beyond the mani-cam. Personally, I like certain actors for their talent not their fashion, so I could give a rat’s patootie whether they wish to talk about their dress or not, or do the mani-cam or not. Given a disinterest in fashion and feminist leanings, I actually think it makes them more interesting. But, hey, that’s just me.
You do realize that in many cases the celebs are being paid by the fashion companies, right? Of course, they have no problem saying who they’re wearing.
“You do realize that in many cases the celebs are being paid by the fashion companies, right? Of course, they have no problem saying who they’re wearing.”
So it’s different because they are being paid for it?
