It didn’t seem like it was Jimmy Kimmel or Warren Beatty’s fault. Seemed like somebody handed Warren Beatty the wrong envelope?
Missed it! That seems weird. Why would they even have more than one envelope? It’s not like there is a second place. (I prefer Moonlight winning though.)
Too bad because it was a great awards show up until such a colossal error!
On another note, Warren needs a new plastic surgeon. His eyes are horrible.
Headlines are saying Beatty read the card wrong, but it was Faye Dunaway who grabbed it and read it when he was hesitating. He said after that it said, “Emma Stone, La La Land”. What an awful feeling for him. I don’t normally feel any sympathy for Beatty, but he was right to hesitate.
What a horrible moment…“winners” disappointed to realize they didn’t win…real winners denied their real moment of glory…Warren Beatty looking like a total idiot but maybe not his fault…Jimmy Kimmel looking like his good night was ending in disaster…WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?
He opened an envelope that said Emma Stone La La Land. He was surprised and seemed to realize that something wasn’t quite right but had Faye Dunaway announce La La Land anyway. Too bad they didn’t take more time or ask for clarification if there was any question. But hindsight is 20/20.

No…because her award envelope was singular and awarded. Wrong envelope stuffing? No reading glasses? LaLaLand people have class.
Maybe he handed it to her not expecting her to blurt it out, but to look back in puzzlement.
Sounds like a duplicate of Stone’s win placed in the wrong envelope.
Yes…checked the DVD recording and Warren Beatty walked out with the envelope in his hand…did not appear as if Jimmy Kimmel handed it to him. Beatty did hesitate a long time because he knew the card was wrong…he probably wishes he said something along the lines of ‘I think I was given the wrong envelope’. And yes, Faye Dunawy actually read it incorrectly. Kimmel was gracious in my opinion for trying to take the blame for messing up after initially joking/blaming Steve Harvey, then Warren. I like how Warren didn’t try to throw the blame at anyone and tried to explain what happened.
The La La guy showed amazing class in his acceptance of the situation.
It was like fake news!

You would think whoever is responsible for the envelopes would be meticulous in making sure everything was perfect. You do wonder how that could happen, especially with Best Picture! Whoever messed up and created this mess will be in big trouble!
