Shortly before the correction, a guy with headphones came up on the stage. I am guessing he handed it over.
Too bad to end on that note. I really enjoyed the show otherwise. They kept it light and entertaining.

As bizarre and awkward as this was, everyone behaved gallantly, I thought – the La La Land people who had their joy zapped but who were gracious and quickly stepped off the stage, and the dazed Moonlight people who didn’t get their full moment in the spotlight… even Jimmy Kimmel tried to take some of the heat.
In the end, this will go down in history as a “classic” moment… Moonlinght will shine for years because of it, and that should take some of the sting out of how it won the award.

Another Oscars night with the CC crowd… let’s do it again next year. It won’t have the twist ending, but it will be fun nonetheless…
With something that important, anybody tasked with stuffing the envelope, handing off the envelope, (or found to have been involved in any way in the breakdown that caused this fiasco), probably IS going to be in trouble. The whole thing is very unfortunate.
It’s unfortunate for Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway and hope there is no backlash about their age. I kind of doubt they were the main problem here .
I feel badly for Beatty. He did hesitate and didn’t read it. He knew something was wrong. I think he was thinking it through and then the card was taken from him. It was all really just a matter of seconds.
ETA: Just watched again and he reached in the envelope again to see if anything else was in there then he kind of handed the card over though like, “I’m not reading this.” I think he was just trying to show Dunaway why he was hesitating and she didn’t get it and just read it.
I feel really bad for both the La La crowd and the Moonlight crowd. Both were really screwed over…
Weird thing…Emma Stone swears she has her card which reads “Emma Stone Best Actress.”
Very strange and sad for all involved.
Geez, it is like taking a victory lap only to come back and find out that you were DQ’d.
