Wait. What was Meryl nominated for?
I think she meant Glenn Close?
I thought Julia Roberts looked great! I think Best Picture wasn’t shocking to me because I had seen a couple predictions that it could win.
Julia Robers looked wonderful! Her earrings were a bit distracting.
I like it when the awards are spread around, too. I thought tonight was fine without a designated host.
Surprise! Hubbie saw Green Book with my daughter.
He liked it, but also liked Bohemian Rhapsody.
(Loved Mike Myers and Dana Carvey’s announcement. Wish their could have been more of them.)
I saw Roma, the Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Rhapsody and Black Panther. I didn’t see the Favourite. She sounds adorable!
Interesting Oscars!
On to Victoria on PBS!
I first saw Olivia Colman in “The Night Manager” and was hooked. She has also been in “Broadchurch.” I think she’s a great actress.
Roma had no chance for BP.
The voters (plenty of oldsters) were just not gonna vote for something not shown at the box office.
Need to Netflix some of these movie winners!
Watching the after party coverage. Off the shoulder dresses got ?.
I’m not old. Then again, nor am I a voter.
I just think the vote got split, as sometimes happens.
You heard it here first.
Spike Lee pulled a Kanye. He stood up and walked out after the Best Picture was announced. Then he returned and stood with his back to the stage during “Green Book’s speeches. What a prima dona.
Free Solo, Best Documentary winner, is another one to add to your must-watch list. It’s in limited theater release, but you can pay $10 to see it on Amazon. Personally, I would go watch it on the big screen.
^free solo to be shown free March 3 on National Geographic channel … we actually bought it for $12
^I hope they will eventually release all 4 hours of Honnold’s climb in Free Solo!
@rosered55 I think Spike was surprised! LOL
Well, whenever you go into something feeling you’re”owed” something , you’re probably going to be disappointed.
Thanks for the heads-up @SouthJerseyChessMom about “Free Solo” – Best Documentary winner – being shown March 3 on National Geographic. Jimmy Chin (Carleton College '96) and his wife Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, who did the documentary on climber Alex Honnold, presented an Imax showing of the film a month ago in Apple Valley (south suburb of Minneapolis) that our Carleton-student daughter viewed. Can’t wait to see it!
BlacKKKlansman was a much better film (IMO) than Green Book. I’m disappointed!
