I think itās supposed to tie in with her role in Wicked. The good witch arrives in a bubble in Wizard of Oz. Cynthia Erivo is playing the wicked witch, and her dress was reminiscent of the dress the wicked witch wore in Wizard of Oz.

I think he was supposed to wait while an announcer read them and I guess showed in the background screens.
In Memoriam seemed odd; could barely read the names on the screens.

There was no fanfare with his announcement. 
Read the Twitter comments about Al Pacino. They are hilarious.
I agree about the In Memoriam. I also couldnāt hear the announcer very well.
If I was a Best Picture nominee Iād be pissed.

I just get too bored to keep going, but I have to say I thought the dresses were lovely this year for the most part. I didnāt like the hard bodice at the shoulders of an Emily Bluntās dress though, Al thought the rest of it was lovely.
Although I enjoyed Daāvines performance, I think Jodie Foster was better.
