@jym626 I don’t have a photo to show you right now of Natalie Portman’s dress without the cape, but the first time I saw the dress was when she was presenting an award and she had no cape on for that. I saw the cape when there was a photo shoot of the red carpet.
Never mind - I found one. It is striking.
Her cape had the names of all the female directors who weren’t nominated embroidered on it!

Regina King - regal, elegant, amazing!
I thought Penelope Cruz’s dress was so so pretty. Julia Louis-Dreyfus always looks amazing. Janelle Monae also great in the hooded silver dress. Natalie Portman, Regina King, both big yes.
If Diane Keaton loves that look so much, fine, I just wish she’d choose a fabric other than flannel. That looked like she was headed to a business meeting.

I will always have an issue with the flesh colored dresses on pale women. A trend that won’t go away.
Loved Mindy Kaling’s dress. Hated Diane Keaton’s outfit, even though I love her and it was in keeping with her style.
Cynthia Erivo. Both looks were FANTASTIC.
Salma Hayek. Stunning. Mindy Kaling pulled off that dress and looked amazing.
I didn’t care for Natalie’s dress. She looked totally flat chested and the dress was unflattering.

Hated Olivia Colman ‘s dress. Kristen Wiig, so fantastic until the camera panned down. Wow, what a disappointment. Penelope Cruz, what happened? Diane Keaton, enough.

Finally, Janelle Monae looked super cool. Billy Eilish was very Billie Eilish, but I can see her evolving to look as cool as Janelle some day.
On a separate note, I didn’t love Eilish’s rendering of Yesterday.
Agree! Loved the gloves and the side peek action at the top of the dress. But the bottom was too much. It reminded me of the outfits in Monae’s “Pink” video.
