Other college acceptances

**Decision: Other Colleges **

I know we’re all going Navy, cause Navy is #1, but I thought it would be cool to see what schools we future plebes have turned down for USNA

Will everyone just QUIET DOWN for a minute?

Oh… :o

Uh… :o

Back in 1986, I only applied to USNA, USCGA, and SUNY Maritime. I have no idea if I ever got accepted at SUNY because it ceased to exist when I got my appointment to NAPS (both USNA and USCGA sent me there, but I took the Navy route).

I declined DePauw, SMU, UNC, and West Point…tonight at 5 pm I’ll find out whether or not Duke let me in so that I can decline them too!

Spider turned down:

Texas Tech Army ROTC scholarship
Texas A & M Corp of Cadets scholarship

Declined (everywhere else):

Georgia Institute of Technology
This is my brothers’ school. It’s nice up there and all, but my father’s not impressed. They do have NROTC, though.

Mercer University
This is my back up, because I have a free ride thar (presidential scholarship, a XC scholarship on the side, and ROTC is avaliable).

US Military Academy
This gave me a tough choice. I actually filled out the acceptance card, but then my right hand filled out the decline card and mailboxed it without my left hand knowing. It is beautiful, and I do like the Army (but I like the Marines better, and ships are pretty damn awesome).

University of Oregon. That’s it. I only applied to USNA and U of O because I only wanted USNA!

My son was accepted to Navy, Washington & Lee, Mercer, Georgia, Georgia Tech and waiting to hear from UVA. He is still keeping his decision under wraps. He is visiting USNA at the end of April for its CVW. We’ll see then.

Dictatoranna and mvljog440… R u guys from Atlanta??

Dd declined Embry-Riddle (NROTC), School of Mines, USCGA and AFA. She hasn’t sent in her decline to Hillsdale yet.

My son declined University of Wisconsin–Madison and USAFA

Was accepted to Lehigh U, Clemson, Oklahoma and Rochester Institute of Technology

harvard…but who knows how that decision will go. after i got into USNA and that, i threw out all other applications, lol.

Was accepted to UConn, Penn State, Fairfield and received a 4yr USMC option scholarship to ND. I bleed blue and gold tho :D

I got into USNA, USAFA, and USMA…the only schools I applied to. I turned down West Point a few weeks ago, and even though I’ve accepted USNA I’ll wait a little while longer before I turn down USAFA.

Umm…USD, SDSU, Tulane, CSU San Marcos, and for the hometown safety…CSU Sacramento.

I’m aboard!

Waitlisted at Duke and Harvard. Accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill.

Anchors away!

possibly St.Norbert college, Boston University, UMass- Lowell, and I got waitlisted for Villanova I still have to find out about George Washington University…I have yet to decline any of them due to a DoDMERB issue I’m trying to resolve

haha im happy to see that all of you 2010 are so excited to come here. things will be rough for some of you, but keep your chin up and come back to this site and remember how you felt when you got your appointment. When I was in a senior in high school I applied to West Point, USNA, and USAFA…and obviously i went navy…

I declined Virginia Tech. I also got into auburn because it was in-state but im pretty sure i got my acceptance before they got my application…turnaround was three days. hhhhmmmm.

MOM2LOLA2011:
I’m from Georgia, but not Atlanta (closer to the “heart of Georgia,” “Mac Town,” “Warner Vegas,” etc.). Maybe that’s another reason why I like the service academies (“Get the HELL OUT OF GEORGIA!”). :)

I’m not sure about mvljog440, though.
