Approximately what’s the percentage of in/out of state students? What’s it like for out of state students coming into such a large population of Virginia residents? Did you feel like you fit in easily or did it seem like a lot of people knew each other before coming to UVa?

Admisson stats for the class of 2015 are here: [Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process](http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com)

Maybe others can answer the rest of the questions.

The instate to oos ratio is currently 69:31.

On a more personal and less statistical note, I’m in-state, but I have a lot of friends (including my roommate) who are OOS. There are quite a few Virginians who come in knowing a lot of people from high school, but in the first few weeks of school most everyone is looking to make new friends. I’ve actually seen more in-state students who have had trouble adjusting than out-of-state.

It may seem intimidating to come in knowing nobody or just a few people, but as long as you are open to meeting new people and joining clubs or organizations where you can meet people with similar interests, it hardly matters where you’re from.
