out of state waitlisted - UVA

What do you think the chances for acceptance of a female from New Jersey waitlisted at UVA?

im curious, what are your stats… because i live in new jersey and i am thinking about applying there

northern NJ
Last year we did have kids go to UVA from our high school but this year I’m sure you heard has been bery difficult all over.

the note we recently got said that UVA is oversubscribed (for OOS only I think).

Sucks to be 06 sometimes. What’s everyone’s story on why it was so hard this year? Stuff at my school was that the children of baby boomers have all grown up and are applying to college, and that it’s only going to get harder next year. Others say there’s more Asians applying this year because 2006 high school graduates were born under the dragon zodiac. Which does make sense because dragons are a very good sign and viewed as extemely lucky amongst other stuff. I remember when the dragon year rolled around, a lot of couples were timing preganancies and getting C-sections in order to have their kid born as a dragon.

I think it has more to do with a surge of applicants and applicants who apply to a huge number of schools.

how about maybe the fact that every year it “sucks to be (insert year here)”. And the way people feel about 2006 admissions was the way people felt about 2005 admissions, and the way people felt about 2004 admissions, and the way people felt about 1990 admissions.

I don’t think it really has to do with the large amount of people who apply to more schools. Using that logic, schools would have to accept more people because the likelyhood of someone attending the school they were accepted to drops given more options to choose from.
