Overworked: crazy assignments

Share your assignments that were unreasonable. It can be because of the class level, the time limit, the grading policy, or whatever.

I’m currently taking a break from a seven page French essay on a 19th century play we read over the summer. It’s unreasonable because the class (including all previous years) has never written more than five or so pages and when we’ve done that, we’ve been given about two weeks and it’s been on a really easy topic, such as, “Write a creative short story that’s vaguely related to French culture” or “Why do you think family is important?” I would consider this a hard essay in English, but I have to write it in a language I’m not fluent in…

Me and my friends complain that there should be a “staple rule” when it comes to overnight readings for history or ToK - if it’s too thick to staple, it’s too long for one assignment. Especially considering they make us download and print everything at home and bring it in. They say it saves us from having to pay a course fee but printing 100+ pages a week at home is pretty dang expensive too

^That sucks because you can’t do homework in class.

Does your school library let you print a bunch of stuff or do they kick you out?

It’s 5 cents a page to print at school, everyone gets a really small printing budget at the beginning of the year (idr what, I think it’s like three bucks…) and after that we have to pay for it ourselves, which is a b**** and a half because we have to turn in the money through the main office and wait for it to be put onto the library login accounts…so I usually just save my school printing budget for emergencies, like if I leave a paper at home.

Do schools let you get a pass to the computer lab and read your assignment online without printing during study hall?

We don’t have a study hall, but I can go in during lunch. I usually don’t though because food isn’t allowed in the library.

Rub your stomach and pat your heat… on top of mount everest

How do you pat heat?, you must be referring to a superconductor lol

^ I do believe he was referring to “heart”. Patting your heart obviously makes much more sense than patting your heat. Come on samd. :)
