oxbridge

I recognize the deadline for Oxbridge is this week. My son has a 2350 SAT composite, an 800 math 2 subjetct test (he took chemistry today but the result won’t be available for 3 weeks) and only 4 AP scores (all 5s). Does the absence of a fifth AP score preclude him from being considered at any of the colleges? thanks–

Not if he’s going to be taking more - if he gets an offer it would be conditional on getting certain scores. Or if his APs don’t include calculus or chemistry, and he’s applying for a sciency subject, the SAT subject tests would probably be an acceptable substitute.

Impossible to say. If all his APs are in sciences and he is applying to read English for example, then none of them will count (they will only look at relevant subjects). You need to but the Chemistry SAT II in the subjects pending (or whatever it is called now) on the UCAS form. At least 90% of applicants apply with grades pending. This is considered normal in the UK.

what cupcake said. just make sure that by the time he is done with testing he will have tests in the subjects required for whatever course he is applying to study.

fyi, he can’t submit his application until whoever is writing his reference has uploaded it to UCAS- I’ve seen applicants not make the deadline b/c their recommender didn’t upload it in time.
