PA Keystones

Any one else have to take bio keystones last year? They are a graduation requirement and I really don’t think I did very well. You have to get advanced or proficient to pass but no one knows the scale or what score you have to get to get these. Anyone else worried?

I took the bio one my freshman year when they were still experimental. Our curriculum did not align so well at the time, I simply wrote “my teacher did not teach us this material, sorry” for one of the short answers and I still got proficient (close to advanced). They are not too hard assuming you have at least a decent understanding of bio. As for scoring, you do not get penalized for answering anything wrong, the minimum score for proficient or advanced changes each year. Look at some practice questions online if you want to see what the test is like.

I remember taking the PSSA Science exam back in the 8th grade when that was still experimental. Other than that, I didn’t take any Keystone exams or PSSA’s because I attended Catholic high school :D

Yeah I went to a private catholic school until this last year (freshman year). We took some standardized tests there every year but they weren’t this stressful. We don’t find out how we did until the beginning of this school year. If we didn’t get proficient or advanced we have to take a prep thing in home room everyday.
