paper application

<p>hello all…i am new to the board and wanted to know if anyone has been receiving acceptances/defferals…denials who applied early decision with the paper application…i am expecting to hear tomorrow since we cant check our status online or through the admissions office, and wanted to know if anyone can weigh in on my chances…
stats: Out of state (North Carolina, but a legacy!!)
3.97 accumulative gpa (A- approx.)
SAT: 650 V/640 M/670 W
National Honor Society
Key Club
Beta Club
Student Government
Young Republicans
Varsity Lacrosse (3 letter years)
Varsity Football (2 years)
Eagle Scout
Very active in church youth group including a mission trip to mexico, play guitar and work at a soup kitchen and other service organizations through my church
Have worked 2 jobs (1 during part of school year in 10th grade)
-My dad graduated from UVA in 1973
-My grandfather was the athletic director at UVA from 1963-1979 (has been deceased for 16 years- the name is Steve Sebo if anyone recognizes him)
-I believe i wrote great essays and have 2 great teacher recs and 4 outside recs going in from many esteemed alumni and staff…</p>

<p>so if anyone has gotten info from the paper app yet id like to hear…and maybe hear some comfort…or at least ease my pain on what to expect…hopefully ill be joining yall in the class of 2010…</p>

<p>As a legacy, you’ve got a pretty decent shot. You won’t be rejected, but you’re borderline admit/defer.</p>

<p>my ap scores: 4 ap world/ 5 ap us…taking 3 aps and an advanced course this year (ap bio, euro, english literature)…i know it doesnt mean much more i guess…hopefully tomorrow will turn out well…</p>

<p>Wow you sound very like me but my SATs were better but your grades are better (if thats your unweighted) but I dunno I got deffered :frowning: Im an OOS legacy too.</p>

<p>yeah i got deffered today as well…looks like the legacy thing really doesnt matter as much as it used to…i guess we can just hope for the best in the spring…</p>
