Heights DO have a genetic component but sometimes there is definitely some randomness. My dad is 5’9" and mom is 5’4". The three sons are 5’11", 6’1" and 6’3". The girls are 5’6", 5’5", 5’3" and 5’1". My friend is 5’6" and his wife is 5’3". They have a S who is 6’3" and D who is 5’10"!
I grew from 4’11" and 99 pounds at 11 to 5’5" and 125 from 6th to 7th grades and have the stretch marks to remind me! Never got any taller. Didn’t get stretch marks from pregnancies, just that growth spurt.
My 6’ D has horizontal stretch marks up the back of her spine. She too grew about 6" in a year. I haven’t said anything to her… I’m not sure she even knows!
Hmmm I found this forum because my soon to be 14 year old is 6ft 6 and has size 14 feet and doesn’t seem to be slowing any time soon.
I am 5 ft 10 and his dad is 6 ft 2. All the women on both sides are 5 ft 10 or over and my Paediatrician said that he would get his (unusual) height from me. My great grandmother was 6 ft and my pop (her son) was 6 ft 4. He is predicted to get to 6 ft 7 but I think he’ll definitely pass that.
My stretch marks are all on my bottom and have faded a bit over the years. As I never wear any outer garments that expose that area, I don’t think many have ever seen it and it only bothered me briefly as a teen and then I realized it would never be on display so heck with it! Happily, never got stretch marks from pregnancies, tho gained over 50 pounds with S and lost it all.
