We leave for Spring Break tomorrow - to Chicago - what could possibly go wrong??!!
H live in a world where the thinks that nothing could possibly go wrong. So the fact that we are planning to visit his father tomorrow- who lives way way out in the country in northern IL - doesn’t give him a bit of pause.
The view from our hotel window is amazing… Except due to the wind and snow we cannot see much.
The wind is fierce.
The weather channel is down and the local stations are showing regular programs.
At home ALL channels would be showing nothing but weather information all day long.
Waving hello to @oregon101 since you’re in my neck of the woods. Of course no one is supposed to be out and about, per the Governor … Snow is changing to rain, I think. H figures a snow day is an especially good time to make lots of phone calls, thereby keeping him from taking the pup out, going out to shovel, etc. There’s not a lot to shovel since we’re in a condo, but still … I did it before the snow got too heavy from the rain. Plus I went around shaking snow off the tree branches & bushes before they all break under the weight. Dinner is in the slow cooker.
Working from home again today. H decided to just take a vacation day as he is still using last years vacation! I’ll do what I can from home and maybe take a few hours as vacation. So far we have 15 inches from the storm. Today we expect about another 6 so they say on the news - lake effect now is kicking in.
Finally dug out enough to get to work this morning. I will say that working from home I got so much more done both at home and for work! So many less interruptions!
Didn’t go out at all yesterday, but when I went out this morning to go to the gym, I discovered my car was partially buried again. The snowplow apparently went through a 2nd time, plus the service that does the condo driveway piled snow in front of my car. (I was parked in the first street space to the right of our driveway.) And, it’s been cold, so everything froze into a solid mess. I think I would have broken the shovel trying to clear the space, so I just decided to gun it on out of there. (I drive an SUV.) Fortunately that worked. H is gone for the day, so now I’m parked in the garage – but I’ll have to vacate that before he comes home. It will be a challenge to find a street spot. Yes, urban living problems.
Asking for all manner of prayers, positive thoughts, good karma, etc. tomorrow for B’s surgery. I’ll be leaving first thing in the morning to drive to the hospital in NH.
At noon tomorrow we find out where D will be for the next 4 years.
BF did the asking/telling at lunch and all went well.
I have been informed by D that when his parents meet us at dinner that I am to be apprppriate
