We’re trying to get out the door for our trip to Williamsburg. DH has been slow for work for weeks now, but got a couple of calls Monday. He took the jobs and is now scrambling to finish them. We were hoping to leave at 10 pm, but that’s not going to happen. I think I will go take a catnap!

Happy summer to everyone! It was in the UPPER 90s here today! With no AC, our tempers are short. The AC in the car will feel good.

jc40 - I’m not quite longing to be called “Granny” yet either, but it’s nice to think of it out there in the middle-distant future. We, too, have an Eagle Scout procrastinator. He blew off summer camp the past two years but is going this summer to finish off his remaining merit badges. I don’t think he’s decided on a project yet, though. He’ll be 17 in August so he needs to get cracking.

Good news on the biopsy front - all clear. DW quite  it took so long for the results to be communicated. I was ready to reverse polarity on the PVC and point it at that Dr. Thanks to all the well wishers and for the extended use of the PVC.

S1 is coming to the end of his Amazing Race and is due back in the country beginning of next week. A few days of recovery and off to school for his class/“research” job and RA training. He found out that the floor he will have was the scene of a tragedy back in the 80’s - a student fell out of a 5th floor window on what will be his hall and was killed. He admits to being a bit spooked by it. I put it down to nerves around the challenge of the job.

woohoo IL!!! great news and sorry it took so long for the results! Isnt this hot weather wonderful IL? (NOT) I;m heading down that way this weekend, to a house with ineffective ac apparently…yuck

i dont think it will be too long before S1 will have kids…2nd year anniversary this week. and he has a herniated disc in his neck…has decided to go ahead and have surgery booked in july… his words"" i want to be able to pick up my children"… that’s a pretty big hint that they are planning

OK, so ds was supposed to meet today with the people who he’s never met but for whom he’s house-sitting for three weeks. He FORGOT! Went to play pickup ultimate, came home, took a shower, started watching a movie, checked his e-mail. Oh $%^&!!! What a way to make a great impression. Not.

fb - It seems that procrastinating Eagles must be pretty common. We once took 4 of DD’s college friends to dinner. Incredibly 2 of them had little brothers dragging their feet on Eagle scout requirements. In both cases, the rights to the extra family car had been put on hold for them until after Eagle was done.

Jc, what does your dd think about the hoopla at UVa? Spent a long time with an alum today who is outraged. Very upset. She’s making me rethink having ds2 apply there.

Good Morning all - been awhile but just checking in… enjoying the summer having everyone at home, hearing the whining as my Eagle procrastinator plans for summer camp after missing the last two years, cooking and eating too much, dreading DS1s return to college in August. The more things change the more they stay the same! Stay cool my friends…

Morning all! Thanks for the coffee P56! I’m gonna need it :)

AL34! It’s great to “see” you! I was wondering how your summer was going…

47 1/2 hours till vacation…it’s what’s keeping me going.

In COLLEGE news, D1 told me she may switch her new 2nd major to a different new 2nd major; it’s related, won’t have to change her fall schedule and would have the same advisor. It’s been interested to watch her working through the process of what she wants to do at work after college.

IL - thank goodness for the clear biopsy! It’s nice to be able to get back to life again, isn’t it?

YDS - it sounds like something my Ss would do. When will they get to the point where we don’t have to be on them all the time for something?

colorado_mom - We can’t take the car away from S2 - he doesn’t drive yet, and in some ways, that’s a good thing. We kind of nudged S1 to get his license because he went to HS out of district and we had to provide transportation. I had a company car at the time so he had access to a vehicle. S2 goes in district and can ride the school bus, so we haven’t really said much about it.

Congrats to your S on his graduation, psychmom!

mdemvizi - Good luck with the rest of your classwork and feel better!

jc - Glad you are enjoying your summer. It sounds like your D is having a great experience! It’s very cool that she got to see a brain surgery. Sounds like S is really busy, too.

alice - Yay for your D being home!

ML - Hope your trip is going well.

YDS - Congrats!

RobD - Have a fun vacation.

H and I are heading to The Biltmore Inn this weekend to celebrate our 30th, which is next week. We had originally planned to go a resort in VA, but decided it was too secluded. The Biltmore is great in itself, but it also has The Biltmore House, a winery, mountains, trails, and downtown Asheville. It should be fun!

S reports his “Jammin with Laptops” class is fun but the midterm project is due next week, which is only the 2nd week but the middle of the term if you’re in a 3 1/2 week summer class! He has to do a mashup of 2 songs (or other project but he’s doing that one) and is getting frustrated trying to make things fit. I woke up this morning with ideas…we’ll see if he likes any of them. I always have some tune stuck in my head so I might as well try to help him. :)

I’ve read about the Biltmore and always wanted to go see it.

Hello all. I haven’t posted in ages, but here’s my update for today: BB1 was fired today from his P/T $10 an hour data entry job at a hedge fund. Eh? Life stinks.
