My son is now officially a senior as well. Here we go!

I finished my bachelor’s degree today. I cannot quite believe it’s real. I took my first college class in the late 1980s. Moved many times, attended many colleges and took over 20 years to do it but I did it.

After I finished my final (my final final!) I drove home to find H waiting for me. He told me how proud he was of me and we both cried. A very, very sweet day for which I am so grateful.

Wanna steal a sweet idea? When dh got his master’s, he printed out a strip with both our names to put on the thick, clear plastic sleeve that was on top of the parchment. He covered his name and matched fonts and made it look like we’d both earned the diploma. I had supported what was then three of us so that he could quit his job and go back to school to change careers and get the master’s. I thought that was so sweet.

Pugmadkate – Major, major congrats. What an accomplishment, and what a terrific role model you are for your kids. Hugs for the supportive DH!! Go forth and conquer! :)

PMK - That’s fantastic! What a wonderful testimony to the importance of education, tenacity, patience, and devotion (your and your DH’s!)! Hooray for you! Amazing! Bravo! Kudos!
