Parents of the HS Class of 2011 - We're awesome!

That sounds lovely. Have a wonderful trip!

Avondad- your d can even have a glass of bubbly to celebrate! I heard the first snow of the season fell the other day in Scotland, though it is all gone now. Have a great time in Edinburgh. I hope the German market is already at Princes St Gardens! If you like mussels make sure you eat at [Mussel Inn | Seafood Restaurants Glasgow & Edinburgh](http://www.mussel-inn.com/) on Rose Street.

Avondad - thanks and have fun in Edinburgh. We loved the place when we visited several years ago…

Congrats sally22! And have fun AvonDad! Sounds wonderful…

DD is coming home on Tuesday for T-giving…beating the Nor’easter that is coming!

DS comes home on Tuesday.
He called last night with thrilling news… Has been offered paid summer internship. Will be far away yet again. Either Pennsylvania or Texas (we are in California.)

Yeah Minnymom!

Wishing everyone’s student safe travels home and hoping they don’t get caught up in the projected storms.

Congratulations bopper and Sally22 for the great Internship news.

Best wishes to arisamp’s D for the upcoming Interview.

D just finished with second round of midterms. Relaxed thanksgiving week and then the countdown for Finals begins.

In the meantime also trying for summer Internships. Being an International student it is a challenge. So just keeping our fingers crossed knowing the junior year internship can play a big role in the final recruitment.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. I know it is a time for great meals and family fun and get-together and count our Blessings. Enjoy.

D isn’t coming home for Thanksgiving. I told her she could have 1 plane ticket this fall, she could choose to use it for Thanksgiving or use it for her marathon in October. She choose the marathon. She will be in class Monday and Tuesday and has picked up several extra shifts at the pizza place she works at. And, she is doing a 5 mile turkey day run through New Orleans. Her finals start in a couple of weeks, she is done on Dec. 13, so I hope some studying gets done this week, too.

Popping in to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! DS will not be coming home as he only has Th/Fr off and travel is far and expensive, but there are lots of kids on campus and the plan is for fun and rest. Happy to report that after a tough stretch last year, things are going well for him. He has declared his math major and is beyond excited to be taking only math next semester  Hope you and your children are well and that everyone travels safely. All best.

Good to hear your DS is doing great after everything you all went through!

My daughter will be home and is bringing a couple of roommates. She’s local and they’re not. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you whether you’re with your kids or far away.

D is supposed to fly home late tonight. With all the weather issues, keeping my fingers crossed that she does indeed make it home tonight safely !

Safe travels to all our '11 kids!

Sally22 - Thanks for the restaurant recommendation in Edinburgh. We tried the Mussel Inn this evening following a stroll through the Christmas festival market on Princes Street. The seafood was tops and the staff did a nice job as well. We are off to St Andrews tomorrow and Loch Lomand for Thanksgiving day. Have a great Thanksgiving day. Cheers!

Have a great time avondad. We visited Scotland for the second time this past August. Saw a bunch of fringe festival events. If you’re still looking for some day tours, check out Rabies. We used them on both trips & were very pleased. Their office is on the royal mile across from the Starbucks. Also, don’t miss touring holyrood palace. Was told by one of the room guards that the queen held her granddaughter’s wedding in the palace courtyard the summer before last (princess Anne’s daughter). What a gorgeous palace! Finally, as a designer one of my favorite Scottish shops is Anta. It sells quintessential modern Scottish tartan pottery, throws, fabric. The main shop is on George street and they also have a small shop with discounted items on another street off the royal mile by the castle. Google Anta edinburgh for the addresses. Bring home a tartan plate or bowl or candle…it will always remind you of your trip.

Happy thanksgiving to everyone!

Avonhsdad

If you see this try
[The Doll’s House Restaurant](<a href=“Doll's House – Restaurant in St. Andrews”>http://www.dollshouse-restaurant.co.uk/)
in St Andrews. My in laws live near St Andrews- this is one of our fav places

Oh my gosh, Sally, we ate at the doll’s house for lunch in August. It was delicious!

Renaissance that is a weird coincidence! In laws are regulars there!

D is home!! Couldn’t get to the airport early enough to make the earlier flight. Left at her scheduled time. Her connecting flight from Philly to Manchester was delayed - H called and got her switched to the Philly-Boston flight and she landed a little after midnight last night. Glad to have both kids back at home!! Apparently, baking (pumpkin cookies and mint chocolate chip ice cream pie) are on the agenda today…

Happy thanksgiving everyone!!
