Great list! There are a lot of colleges on this list that we are setting up visits to see in a few weeks. Whomever visited UMaine, St. Anselm or Susquehanna, I would appreciate if you could PM me. Thanks and congrats everyone!

Jane, are you Cal Lutheran and Chapman? I’m so jealous now :)

Adding my S, who had a 2.9 at time of most applications, 3.15 now and 26 ACT (27 superscored).

Oops, forgot to add him to U Denver. Can someone do when they add theirs?

Wow, our kids did well, didn’t they? Remember where we all were last year at this time? Holy cow! Take heart, class of 2014!

Should we add merit dough to this list?

Coralbrook, my toes and fingers are still crossed for your daughter for good news from Chapman —my son did not apply to Dodge, so not the same pool of applicants at all. Good luck to her!

Hello all,
I’ve been following this thread religiously since early last year, when we were starting to put together a college list for my D13. She had a 3.28 GPA and 1890 SAT in Nov when she applied EA to 13 schools, mostly small LACs (a number of CTCLs and women’s colleges). She’s at a very competitive public HS, where even the GCs, although supportive, didn’t know a lot about some of her B student schools (and Naviance didn’t have much data about some of them either). But thanks to great advice on this thread and elsewhere on CC, we forged ahead. We said we’d wait to visit most of them until we saw how things turned out. Well, now she has 12 acceptances (and waiting for our state flagship–not really in the picture anymore)! I’ll add them to the list in my next post, but I just want to thank you all. Yes, our kids have lots of great options. I actually enjoyed this process much more than the first time around with DS, who applied RD to top 20 LACs and Univs. a few years ago.

This list makes me so happy – a vindication for the B student!

BobbyCT - To answer your earlier post: My S had a 3.1 GPA, did well first 1/2 of senior year (3.6 this semester) 1210/1600 SAT. He took some honors level courses and 1 AP class, he plays Varsity ice hockey and Golf. Good luck to you. PM me if you have any other questions.

I missed the post when creating this list. What does this list represent?

OK, just finished drafting the letter to Director of Admissions at U of D e n v e r. Condensed version:

Thanks for emails encouraging enrollment deposit. We chose to wait for FA. We are withdrawing. Here are some things you might want to improve for future applicants:

1) Fix NPC - it showed merit aid and we didn’t get it
2) FA Department could be nicer - if someone submits detailed appeal, please at least acknowledge it and communicate denial
3) Met 0% of our calculated need - once again NPC showed differently (they did offer unsubsidized loan for 25% of need, but that doesn’t count in my book)

I finished my daughter’s letter (she reviewed, approved and signed it) with basic sentence ‘Not feeling the love’

It’s still sitting on counter for me to reconsider, but what the hey!! I’ll probably feel the same way tomorrow and it will go in the mail

Crizello - The list is all the schools who have offered admission to our Class of 2013, 3.0 - 3.3 GPA kiddos!
