Lol about chafing…taking a break from senior choir head shots that I am backing (23 lying all over my family room floor)…somehow all this half done stuff is going to adorn the music wing tomorrow…may I order a stiff drink and a magic wand? Not necessarily in that order…got to stop procrastinating…
.Will not be back for updates until decorating done…(I hope I’m not ten pages behind when I surface from decorating hell😝)

Congrats on Yale, momofmusician17! And I so hear you on the quick recovery time!!

DDHM - you’re so right!! I vote for a happy, independent life right down the street. Is that wrong??? (
)

Last night I was at the last play for the seniors. S13 was not involved (not even there) but so many… kids he went to kindergarten with, and everything in between. Last curtain call. (genteel, brave-heroine-type crying). What? I can’t ever do that in real life, why shouldn’t I get to here?

I’m bringing cheesecake around along with chocolate on my serving tray. Can’t have too much comfort food!

Kelowna - love the diaper story… who knew?

S13 is both my first and last, since D15 ended up at boarding school. It’s not the same, because this is still equally “home” to her as her school is… but it sure feels like an empty nest.

EastGrad - I really admire the way you handled the Boston trip. You are truly an involved parent yet ready to let go when necessary.

DDHM - congrats on MIT!!! And where was the butter when I was in a lounge chair?? Especially since it’s virtual butter!

Congrats on USC, wherenext :D

Congrats on UChicago, mommaof5 :D

DDHM - don’t let them fool you. The girls all go to the tux place and pick the colors. S13 'fessed up last year :).

FlyMe - I’m with you on dress color. But perhaps the unveiling of the dress means more to her? S13 has never been with a girl who didn’t choose the color schemes for everything. And they all do wrist corsages. This has nothing to do with the girls and the dresses. It’s the boys, who spend all their time marveling at “how do girls know all that stuff” and want their 10 minutes of revenge when they just slip on the corsages and get to watch the girls fumble around for 10 minutes pinning on the boutonnieres!

S13 knows his tux doesn’t fit. So I suggested buying a new one, as ND wears them for band. He, instead, is going on a diet. Translate: I will be tux shopping at the last minute!

3Triplet - good luck! I’m so glad all I had to do was find and scan photos.

Confetti - More Twelve Days of Decisions, please. sitting on the reading rug, legs crossed, hands folded, waiting quietly :D

Confetti, would you like some mashed potato or some grits on your ibutter? Even if the girls go to the tux place, that still shows initiative and planning on the girls’ part. Not enough kids in our school have Swizzle-level executive skills.

Pounce: Meditation Session on the Lido Deck at 7 pm. Ommm.

{Initially, I accidently typed Medication Session. Freudian slip?}

DDHM - Medication works, too! :p

Medication Session for all those of us whose lives are falling into pieces on the Lido Deck at 7 p.m.

DDHM, You ought to itry mashed potatoes with butter on chocolate. Very iyummy.

Thanks for your kind words, Confetti. As for your “happy independent life right down the street”…seems like it’s too easy to go from there to “happy independent life in our basement.”
Hmmm…doesn’t sound too bad now that I think about it. ;)

That awkward moment when… new doctor asks Do you smoke? No. Do you drink? No grin - thinking of all the virtual indulging Doctor - What’s that, do you drink? No! I swear! embarrassed face thingy I don’t know how to do

Twelve Days of Decisions:

On the third day of decisions, S13 said to me:
“Do they have my major?”
“Too many loans!”
“But Mom, I still love my safety…”

Also, I think many things are better with butter. Like bacon.

Oh wait… I mean things are also better with bacon :D. Please pass the igrits.

Eastgrad- S is still in Boston? How is it going? Thinking about his trip!

Confetti- the tux story is killing me! :)

Laundry Backpack- I looked on Amazon- which one do I get? Some have mixed reviews.

Good afternoon cruisers!! Congratulations on all the decisions!! A special “Fight On!!” for the USC decision!

I am checking in from the Bay Area where the weather is beyond gorgeous. It is sunny and clear with temps in the high 70s! S3 had a great time at the sleepover last night and we enjoyed Cal Day today, although it was pretty crowded. We bought decals for the car and a sweatshirt at the student store so we are set. Go Bears!!

Just got back from imeditation. Ah, much more relaxed now. I especially appreciate whichever one of you brought the chocolate covered bacon. :D

Pounce, you get an embarrassed face thingy by typing a colon followed immediately by a small letter o. It comes out like this: :o

:o Thanks DDHM! I was using the zero. :o

In the 80s here in sunny SoCal. Congratulations on all the decisions, even the USC one (I’m a Bruin).

I ordered two different kinds of laundry backpacks. One is black with a pretty blue print pocket for DD, and the other is solid black and looks more like a duffle for DS.

Ah… yum chocolate covered bacon! I have never tried it but it sounds terrific. With kosher salt - even that much better… somewhat hypocritical perhaps but we are talking chocolate covered bacon!

I’m sure when those conquistadors returned to Europe with chocolate they never imaged that some day their descendants would cover bacon with it… but then they did not need to ride the SS Indecision sooo they can not judge us right?

*Clap.Clap.Clap.Clap.Clap.Clap.Clapping for Confetti

Yes the weather is fantastic in So Cal today. DD13 scored her first sunburn of the season while trying to figure out how many AP credits UCD allows. It looks like she’ll get to use all of her credits and will start out only 5 credits short of Sophmore status. So she’ll still be on track for graduation in 2017 even though she’s deferring.

Next research project is whether she can take summer classes at CSULB for credit at UC Davis. I read UCD’s official online info on this…but it reads like double speak to me. I hope she can because then she can spend summers at home where we have nice ‘on shore cooling’ - as opposed to UCD which I understand is hotter than Hades in the summer. Also we can $ave the cost of $ummer hou$ing while expediting graduation. Not that money is an issue cough.

The conquistadors had jamon iberico and thus no desire to cover it with anything, even chocolate. I, on the other hand, may need the I-Lipitor soon.

I think I have fume damage from too much rubber cement cause the hospital social worker in me immediately started to type to Someoldguy that Rx for Lipitor is free at Meijer instead of just chuckling…I better open a window while I finish these decorations…yep, procrastinating again…this is emotional stuff!!

3Triplet - Yes, yes open a window! But, I do think a good cry will clear your tear ducts of those nasty fumes. Pouncecat pats 3Triplet on the back It’ll be OK.
