Swizzle - that’s fantastic!!! I will definitely send my daughter & her friends about the site!!

Wow, tx5, when it rains it pours. How exciting and stressful for that kid! I went to a Project Graduation meeting this weekend, and one mom there said her kid is doing a full-court press to get off an Ivy WL. I wonder how often Ivies even go to there WLs.

Tonight is happy hour with a bunch of friends I met through our older kids’ middle school. We’ve been getting together regularly for almost 10 years now. I love that. Some of them no longer have kids in the public schools, and one still has one in elementary. Yikes.

Ds had the APES exam this morning. He did a practice test this weekend and made a solid 4, enough to get credit at his school. Fingers crossed he does at least that well today!

How can I find a user named ‘mathmom’ on this? I tried searching but it doesn’t come up.

To send a pm? Just go to your control panel, go to Send New Message and type in her name.

We played deferral hell which I don’t think is as bad as WL hell. Good luck to everyone trying to get off a WL. Believe in miracles!!!

Sent from my VM670 using CC

Isn’t there a song something like ’ I believe in miracles’ ? SomeOldGuy? Please -if you’re taking requests.

Heading out to get the tutionmobile ignition fixed…I seem to recall ignition flu going around on here a short while back… guess it’s spread to CA. DD13s car had a case of fatal batteryitis this weekend $75! I should not have even thought about that wave of ingition flu that ya’ll had talked about because here ya go…first it’s the battery in one then the ignition in the other!

Ever get freaked out when you think of something or someone and then it happens…like the ignition flu? This morning I thought of a business acquaintance who I haven’t seen in years…this afternoon a friend - unrelated to that man called out of the blue and within two minutes started talking about him. Weird…but I’m thinking about buying a lotto ticket - which we never do…but…hmmmm… DH said the other day ‘I just feel like we’re gonna win the lotto’ To which I replied - good luck with that since we don’t buy the tickets. :-)

If you’re thinking of the Seventies soul classic by Hot Chocolate, it’s a great song, but the rest of the lyrics are a bit uncomfortable in this setting.

Here’s hoping the tuitionmobile repairs are cheap. Before this week’s celebrity deaththread got closed, I suggested that the real reason I’ll need to affix a college sticker is to cover up the rust holes I can’t afford to get repaired as long as I’m paying for college.

Pounce: So sorry I may have passed on the ignitionitis. Unfortunately there is no vaccination. Brace yourself, mine was over $400 to fix. You may want to buy that lottery ticket unless you got the $2 Exacta on Saturday. How about Amber’s AI version of “Miracles”? {neuronal humming noise…} Although, come to think of it, it didn’t work for her.

Never mind.

SOG: Great idea. I’ll be sure to look for opaque, not transparent, stickers. I’ve got some bumper scrapes to cover up on both tuitionmobiles, which include some white paint that is suspiciously the same color as the concrete wall near our garage.

DS13 was fairly happy after AP Chem today. DD13 will tackle AP Art History tomorrow; BTW, APAH is one heck of a time consuming class if anyone is thinking to take it next year.

SOG: Don’t forget the Jefferson Starship classic: Miracles - “…If only you believe like I believe, baby We’d get [off the WL]…”

SOG- Oh! Sorry for the inappropriate music request. See why I pretty much stick to talk radio… I’m surprised any part of that song came into my head… so can I change my request to just any song with the word miracle?

Tutionmobile is being ‘hospitalized’ overnight. Poor thing. Is there any pixie dust left over? There is an outside chance that DH - aka Mr Warranty will get it covered under a factory recall or warranty extension issue… hoping, hoping, hoping because $400! Oh dear!

Well, except for the Honors Assembly on Thursday and band banquet on Friday, D is done with high school. (Not at all sure what kind of emoticon I want to put here.) She finished her last final today and is now at Senior night. She is still stressed though because she and her BFF are the ones stuck with doing all the decorations for the band banquet (because they are the two band officers who always end up doing everything).
Oh well, at least she isn’t going to get bored in the next 5 days. :)

STEM - Done ALREADY?!! Wow! About what date did they start this year? DD doesn’t graduate until mid June. Congratulations on the graduation!

First of all, I would like to thank every single one of you here replying & giving me feedback about my dad! I didn’t know so much people would respond! I have read every single one and I appreciate each and all! Thank you so much!

cromette: haha I know but my dad isn’t the most active person in the world…

tougis: thank you so much! Well, its been about a year I seen him so I do get a little home sick
teehee anyways, well at the same time, it would feel like I am kind of calling him here for nothing if I don’t interact with him I feel like I am just wasting his time.

WalkingTessie/MZBkiya: I didn’t get a chance to talk to him since he is on a back to back business trip…
but I agree that he will get some time off and have some time for himself. It’s just he doesn’t make the right choices…and I am really worried about that.

W2BeHome: Well, I already signed up for him the June 5th parent orientation however, I don’t know what he will do the last two days since my dad and I plan to go back to Korea right after this! And thank you for the suggestions I will definitely mention it to him!

Vitrac: Thank you for the suggestions! I think I the library is a MUST for him to take a tour in! I will definitely mention it to him!

okay, so what does it mean that a letter from the state Higher Education “whatever it is called”–that determines elligibilty for state aid sent a letter to my daughter with the name of a school we did not deposit at??? We never (that I know of) filled out any other form than the FAFSA…it happens to be one of the WL schools she’s hoping for…but, she has not heard anything from that school…could this just be residual “looking” back from earlier in the spring?

picerulz, you need to post one more time before you can send PMs, because you need a total of 15 posts to PM folks. You can just reply one more time to the list (maybe mention something flattering about me.
) Then you should be able to send a message to mathmom.

STEMF, wow, I think your DD is the first one done. Anyone else? Our DS is speaking at graduation and must have his speech memorized for a run-through tomorrow. But we don’t finish until June.

TX5, what a story–headline worthy! Cornell swoops in and scores in the final seconds!

ETA: crossing my fingers it means something good, drmom123.

Swiz, can’t wait to check out your sites. If you have a chance and feel okay doing so, I would love to get the url for your blog, but you’ll have to send it in a PM because (as you know) CC forbids posting a link to a private blog.

Holy early commencement, Batman! We’re still hunkered down in high school around here.

Since I didn’t take requests earlier, I offer up this cautionary tale of how NOT to play the weeks following prom.

Anybody knows anything about deffering scholarships? :(

Drmom: not sure about your state. Indiana apparently gets a FAFSA report for every student filing with an IN address. Then they send emails out to tell you what you need to do to qualify for the state aid they offer. The first requirement is to go to a school in Indiana, but they don’t seem to weed the students going out of state from their list. My son is in his third year at Caltech, and we just got one of this year’s emails telling him he hasn’t completed the online form that might get him state money for going to an Indiana school. I haven’t figured out if they are just VERY THOROUGH in case plans change before fall, or if there is a less positive reason. It still gives me a shock each year, trying to remember what I forgot to file, before I remember that I can ignore this one.

Lemonmelon - Your dad has back to back business trips then he’s coming here…then you guys leave for Korea… if I’ve got all of that right I believe I know what activity your Dad will like. SLEEP! If there’s a spa in his hotel then sleep, spa, sleep, dinner with Lemonmelon. Wow! He’s an epic traveler. You’re a lucky melon that your Dad will fly in for orientation! Enjoy!
