I’m not going to even pretend like I’ve kept up. Dh and ds2 left a couple of days ago because my MIL was put in the hospital (all is well; she’ll get out and go to rehab today), so I’ve been alone and swamped with all the pre-holiday chores. And ds1 is earning some money by house- and dog-sitting for friends for the week, so he hasn’t been able to help. But everyone should be here by midafternoon. This is the first year that we’ve stayed home since the boys were in elementary school.

I’ve already made the tortilla soup for tonight (and bought tamales) and am making pigs in a blanket in the morning, per ds1’s request. I bought a ham for Christmas dinner, but I don’t feel like I have it all together. When we go to others’ houses I’m always subjected to things I don’t like so I’m making only things I like, and it’s not coming together. Is ham, stuffing and that marshmallow ambrosia stuff enough??? Oh, with rolls. LOL. That sounds like an 8yo made the menu.

Have a great holiday, all of you who celebrate.

- but it’s a happy day here!

I know that some colleges have an extended deadline as a courtesy for teachers, but my situation isn’t looking good.
