Sorry for posting ad nauseam about this, but given the still lost sat score, what can they do? Is there a tracking number of any kind? They CB guy told me the batch numbers were for the Oct tests only. Do I insist they resend? At this point the Nov ones are supposedly on the way, so it’s almost been a month.
@CAMidwestMom I had CB open an escalation. That means they will contact the school within 2 business days. If the scores can’t be located, CB will resend right away at no extra cost. It worked for me. Due to the holiday, I would call today if I were you.
@LKnomad – Don’t believe everything that they tell you at those information sessions. Especially at Berkeley.

They are driving me to drink. “They just need to download them.” I suppose now I need to call back and ask for a supervisor or something? I repeatedly asked for some sort of verification or way to track it and she kept saying ‘they just need to download them.’ I wonder if I should call the school later today and double check? Perhaps the portal is not up to date. The thing is, when I sent his college transcript from the 1818 classes, it was received and logged within two days. sigh…
I would call the school and try to talk to a CB supervisor if the school hasn’t found the scores. There has been a major disconnect between CB and some colleges. I really feel your pain.
@CAMidwestMom At one of my son’s schools, I was told that in the portal, I would never see the updated date for recent scores. I would only see the first date from the first scores they received, so they may have the scores, but you can’t see them. They verified that they received his latest scores via phone call.
Y’all are making me really, really happy S finished taking ACTs in the spring of last year, and that D has squeaked through with her September ACT.
They have this week off school and I made them sit down and apply for scholarships, plus S wrote his application that’s due December 1. With any luck, he won’t have to send any more now that that one’s in. If he gets into his EA school, he’s done. We’ll know in about 3-1/2 weeks, I guess.
Good luck @petrichor11
@AsleepAtTheWheel, sorry you are going through so much trouble. I hope everything works out. I have been lucky, everything has been sent and received.
For the person asking about UC’s and test scores, you have to send all SAT 1 scores, subject tests are score choice. Either way, the UC’s said they score choice the subject tests for you. UCLA said they aren’t allowed to use bad scores against you.
Congratulations on all the acceptances and the Eagle Scout accomplishment.
I was at a conference all weekend with S. He has been involved in this organization since freshmen year. It meets three times a year and this was the last time he will be attending the Fall conference. When I was there I was telling the freshmen how lucky they are to just be starting. When break is over S has his last Mock Trial competition. It is so sad that all this is coming to an end.
@Mysonsdad last mock trial? wow. My D’s season is just starting. Her school doesn’t have its first scrimmage until Dec. 5. Should be quite a year for them as they are top-heavy with very experienced seniors.
My D got a letter from ASU today that looks like an acceptance + national scholars merit (based on some wording on the envelope.) Other than that, she has two schools with Dec. 1 deadlines for merit.
So far, she has two rolling (acceptances), three EA, the two Dec. 1 apps … and then??? She may not even have an actual RD to do after Dec 1. I have asked her to do one more sweep through her lists to make sure she’s quite comfortable with the two acceptances she has bc they are her financial safeties too. The others, which are matchy for admittance, are definitely dependent on merit/need-based aid.
PS: we, too, got a refund of the “rush fee” from College Board. her scores were sent “rush” around Oct. 26, but where actually sent about Nov. 2, and the refund showed up about a week or so after that.
Wow, listening to you all with your acceptances and rolling admissions stories. My s has only put in two apps, the SCEA for the Ivy and our local CSU, which is guaranteed, but won’t give an official answer for several months. He has his UC apps due by Monday, but the rest are not due until after Jan 1. We have no acceptances, because we have no rolling admissions and only were allowed the single EA due to the single choice rule. It is scary not having anything in hand. Does everyone here have acceptances???
Not us. DD will hear back from her 3 EA schools in December. She will be submitting her UC application tomorrow and one more by the end of this week. The rest of the schools has January deadline. The main concern right now is how to fix those intermediate Bs in time for semester report card in 4 weeks. Who knew that AP Statistics is such a hard subject? Or maybe it is a teacher, I don’t know.
@Ballerina016 AP Stats had been nightmarish for my son. I wish he’d never taken it but oh well.
It was a big day here. Two acceptances and awards. It was somewhat expected but I am not one to count anything until we know for sure. I am so happy for him. Now to wait on the EAs, three in Dec and one in January. One more App to do, but it’s not due until 1-2, so feeling pretty relieved now. Glad I pushed him in August/September!
Wow, S was told that stats was the easy AP option. Many of his friends are taking it instead of calc for this reason. Wonder how they are doing in the class.
Welp, D16 just got a “likely letter” from one of her EAs. It was more of a “you’re admitted” email, but says the portal won’t update until Dec. 20. $ remains the big question there.
Congrats, @CAMidwestMom … two in one day is pretty sweet!
Thanks @MidwestMomTo2! I am seeing a slew of posts for likely letters (which I only learned about a few days ago) to one of his top choices. I really didn’t think it was a stretch and he will be very disappointed if he doesn’t get in. Having said that, he wasn’t super optimistic about merit aid. I’m kind of glad I’m the one on the forum. I know he will not get in everywhere, but he may take this one particularly hard as we have family that works there and it just will be a bummer. Ah the ups and downs… Congrats on the likely letter. I guess nowadays, people really are starting to want quicker results and colleges are responding.
@CAMidwestMom have him check his email tonight. My D just got hers less than an hour ago even if he didn’t get the email tonight, that doesn’t mean he won’t still get in. I think our kids are both looking for big city schools. She also applied to a couple in Boston and will do one on LA too.
@MidwestMomTo2 Congrats!!!
@LKnomad Here is the same. No admissions yet. DD applied 4 EA schools and first notification will be mid Dec. and another one late Dec. Others will come out Jan. Several RD app will send out Jan 1, 2 and 15th. So we need to wait until late March to figure out where to go.
@Ballerina016 @CAMidwestMom @LKnomad DD has problem with AP Calc BC and have to improve her grade during 2nd quarter. I always asked DD to tell me when she has any problem to go through calculus, she said yes but did not ask. sigh. In her school, AP stat is suggested for a student who need easy math course. But I remember I did much better in calculus than statistics, so it depends on students…
I asked him, but I don’t want to make a big deal of it. If he doesn’t get in, it will be better to save it for another day since today was such a good day!!
@NYDad513 DD is taking both AP Calculus BC and AP Stats. AP Stats is much harder and the grading is harsh. It will not look good for a future engineering major if she gets B in math related class.
