Parents of the HS Class of 2016 (Part 1)

@CAMidwestMom and @sleepyparent -

4 schools, 1st due 3/1 & they want:
2015 Tax Return
W-2’s
1099 Forms
Business/Farm Supplement
Verification Worksheet
Student’s Tax Returns, W2 & 1099 Forms

One school has a supplemental Business Supplement…

If she had gotten in I wouldn’t have a problems with it, but we won’t know hear until April from 2 of them.

Good luck to all those headed to scholarship weekends. And congrats to our UC admissions and scholarship invites.
We’re just in a holding pattern here…,

Brightside, with IODC you only submit the documents once and they’ll go to all the schools listed. Much better than having to upload or snail mail the documents to each school individually.

Thank you @Undercovermom1 for helping me see a brighter side to this!

It feels like an audit which I wouldn’t mind so much if I knew she had gotten it.

I hear you @kat2013. It seems rather pointless to have to send all this info to schools before acceptance.

@kat2013 - could it be they’ve decided “yes” but just not told you yet?

@fretfulmother I honestly don’t know. I know that 3 are need aware. One was EA so we will know within a week. Of the other three 1 is an academic reach, 1 is a reach due to finances b/c they meet 100 percent of students’ institutionally determined financial need for all four years on campus & we have considerable need, & the 3rd we no longer are interested in.

So, in looking at the Cornell site, they use iDoc, and their deadline is 2/15, but when I log onto the college board, there is only one school listed, not Cornell. That school is one, at the very bottom of the list and two, that deadline is 3/15, by which time we would almost certainly rule it out anyway. In other words, I have time for that one, but need to get the Cornell stuff in. Any idea on how to get it to link to the CB site now?

Perhaps you can submit through Cornell’s portal?

Try going through Cornell site.

They sent a letter earlier offering assistance with the process. I’m going to look up that contact and see if I can call or email.

I have a question about IDOC. I looked on Cornell’s website and it has a list of “To-Do” Items for my D. The “To-Do” items have a status of “Initiated” except one that says “IDOC Submission” , this status says “Ordered” . I don’t know what that means. Does anyone know? I tried going to the IDOC website and entered her SS# and birthdate and it says it doesn’t recognize her. Has anyone had this issue before? Maybe it means she’s out of the running???

I just uploaded our documents (parent 1040, W-2s, student 1040EZ, W-2 and a verification form) to IDOC for the 4 schools requesting documents through that service. In checking off my spreadsheet I noticed one IDOC school is missing from the schools listed on the IDOC request. I wonder if they will update later.

A few days ago I was uploading/ emailing our documents to 4 other schools that do not use IDOC.

@mrsquietstorm9 I looked on our ToDo list for Fin Aid and nothing is on it. Sigh. Sent the CSS quite a while ago, as well as FAFSA. Did you submit those and does it show up anywhere on the portal?

@CAMidwestMom Yes, I sent the CSS and the FAFSA about two weeks ago. And I do not see those items on the portal either. The website says the “To-Do” items (parent’s return, etc.) are due on Feb. 15th. Just don’t know if I’m missing something.

D only has 1 school showing IODC. Is there a list of participating schools somewhere? I wonder if schools have to individually initiate the request (maybe others will request later)? I never even heard of IODC until this morning!

@mrsquietstorm9 and @CAMidwestMom Cornell is the school missing from my son’s IDOC requests also. I bet they are just being slow on their end and we will all see a request for documents from them in just a few days.

Found this in IDOC’s FAQs
“If your school has told you that you will receive an IDOC notification and you have not yet received one as of the second week of February, it may be that your college has not yet provided the College Board with your information. You will be notified when your college instructs the College Board to do so.”

FYI … (lol, so in other words, check the school’s websites, because they may have different dates!) (:expressionless:

Q: The deadline listed in the Document Management Dashboard is different than the deadline on my college’s website. Which one is correct?
A: Individual colleges may publicize a different date on their website or in communications to you than is listed in the dashboard. If this date is different than the dashboard, you should submit your documents by that date. Submit your documents by the earliest listed deadline to ensure that you meet all of your colleges’ and programs’ deadlines.
Additionally, the deadline listed on the dashboard is for your IDOC information only. Colleges and programs may have different dates for other requirements such as the PROFILE or FAFSA.

@Undercovermom1 This is SO College Board… gotta love them. Insert deranged laughter. I don’t even think we will get any fin aid, although the NPC for Cornell did show us getting some, so they must calculate it a bit differently, which is fine with me. And he probably won’t get in after all this…
