Iām sitting at a mock UN with 1600 kids. My son is not going to check his MIT acceptance until tomorrow. So I have a bit more time to stress!
Well fingers crossed for him @MomofMany02 that takes willpower!
Wow! Congrats to those with excellent news and big hugs and an extra slice of pie for those experiencing some not so good news today.
My son is another who didnāt apply to MIT even though he is a math kid. We went and toured CalTech and he hated it. Since he is not interested in engineering, the tech schools were not as important. He is an SLAC kid all the way. We should start hearing back this coming Friday;
Congrats to those who got into MIT. Condolences and NO pie for those who did not. Cake instead.
@livinginLA Unfortunately, I got nothing to report haha! Bowdoin and Middlebury come back this Friday and Saturday respectively, though! Congrats to all who heard back today and got in:) For those who didnāt, cake>pie, to be honest.

I heard that the kids who go to college still attached to their HS sweetheart commonly have a break-up on the Thanksgiving holiday when back at home. Apparently, itās a trend.
Iāve been skimming and ālikingā at work today, but now that Iām home I finally have time to acknowledge the moms & dads of some incredibly cool kids:

Well, that was one long happy dance! I think I need a big slice of pepperoni extra cheese pizza pie, followed by an equally large slice of lemon meringue pie, followed by a nap. 
Iām going to ditto both Palm and Eastgrad, with extra pie and/or cake a la mode all around as needed and desired!!
WOW @palm715 love you new posting style! My kid is scared that she will use up all her luck before that one will come out.

Wow a day of ups and downs, but mostly ups! So happy for everyone who received good news today! Eating cake (not āPiā people here, unless itās chocolate cream!) for our friends here who recād disappointing news, today. My DSās friend will not get to follow his brother to MIT, as he learned his fate at 5:28 pm CST today. S said none of his friends (Robotics teammates) were accepted. But, they will still have many options. Iām sure there will be better news down the road for everyone!
(So disappointed to have missed Nap Day! But for my mid 50s DH, who crazily goes to the gym at 6am most AMs, it is Nap Day everyday here! Right after he gets home from work!)
